It is easy to implement but requires good planning.
It is reliable when it comes to monitoring.
The benefit is easy installation. Thus, the model approach of the product and out-of-the-box probes, which deliver direct value.
You can integrate clouds, hybrid infrastructure, and on-premise infrastructure into one product.
It is the foundation for our monitoring solution.
Having all of our information within one tool set; our alerts, our monitors, and the things that our operations team needs to function.
It reduced cycles for a lot of quick out-of-the-box functionality. It also allowed us to get away from being stuck in SNMP, VTP V2, based off of agent deployment.
Easy admin functionality. You can quickly do all the admin functionality without reducing cycles.
I like being able to see the alerts that are going on and being able to remediate them.
Generally, just the security and best practice advice we get through this service.
The product has a good UI and it is easy to navigate around.
The company has been very engaged and invested in ensuring that we are successful.
The company appears focused on developing auto-remediation capabilities.
Using the product has definitely been worth it for us, as it has greatly improved our ability to secure our environment.
This enables us to clean up our existing AWS accounts and update our processes for new accounts. This improves our overall security process to an acceptable level.
Reporting capability can be improved especially when it comes to availability.
We want to see more investment in the UI and the dashboard.
How we can get more native information from CA's solutions.
They need to continue to advance the filter capabilities, and provide more input fields.
I would like to see auditability. We've built our own audit functionality to ensure that every CI has the desired model configuration applied to it. And we run that on a daily basis. If that became part of the product, I think it might be a little bit less intensive in terms of resource, because we're doing it with scripts.
It is a little complex to use versus other softwares.
The biggest feature that I've been hoping they would enhance on is inventory management: things like adding/removing nodes.
It needs a little bit more functionality in the Admin Console.
The reporting may be a little bit better. I need to be able to generate an executive level report for specific alerts.
Throughout our use of it, there have been things here and there. I've always opened a support ticket and everything's been taken care of within a couple of weeks.
If someone made an error and opened up a bucket (S3) to the world, we would not know it until the next scan. We are hoping that at some point Evident.io would detect this configuration change immediately so we could limit our exposure as soon as possible.
It still requires a lot of time to review and remediate issues. At this point in its development lifecycle, it is focused on alerting you of errors. It is then incumbent upon the administrator to review all of their alerts and determine how to resolve each one.
It does not have good reporting capabilities. It is often difficult to get information out of the product. There are some APIs, but they are a tad difficult to work with on a regular basis.
Pricing and Cost Advice
Reasonable setup cost and licensing prices.
The license cost depends on the number of probes and robots.
The product-price ratio is better than other brands such as Fortinet or SonicWall.
They have good pricing, licensing, and training.
Negotiate for discounts, especially around the area of production versus non-production AWS accounts.
