"It's very fast and easy to configure."
"Fortinet FortiGate is a scalable solution."
"The application control features, such as Facebook blocking and Spotify blocking, are the most valuable."
"We purchased Fortinet because of the pricing, its functionality, because it met our requirements, and the total cost of ownership over five years was quite reasonable. In the market, Fortinet is rated quite well."
"Provides good firewall security and has great VPN features."
"The security features that they have are quite good. On top of that, their licensing model is quite nice where they don't charge you anything for the SD-WAN functionality for the firewall."
"The threat prevention is the solution's most valuable aspect."
"This solution brings us closer to having a better security score, which helps us a lot in complying with information regulations based on security."
"What's most valuable to me is that it's a contiguous solution that aligns well with the components that we've relied on and trusted from a traditional hardware, firewall, and unified threat management system. My engineers and analysts don't have to learn another platform. We have already entrusted our security controls to Check Point for perimeter and physical security, and now we can do so at the virtual layer as well, which is key to us."
"The visibility, the one-pane-of-glass which allows me to see all of my edge protection through one window and one log, is great. Monitoring everything through that one pane of glass is extremely valuable."
"Its integration and use of features, such as advanced threat prevention, have helped us a lot with malware prevention and also with avoiding exposure to false positives."
"We have complete visibility of attacks originating from email including spear-phishing, spoofing, etc."
"The security configuration features have enhanced the reliable coordination of programs and data safety."
"Identity awareness, URL filtering, IDS, DLP, Content Filtering, VPN, and Application Control are all excellent."
"SSL/TLS traffic inspection features are used for advanced threat prevention against secure SSL traffic."
"There is an interesting possibility of building a tunnel to a firewall from access points. We use this feature for small branch offices with one to two employees with access to central RDP servers."
"The technical support is very good."
"The performance overall is very good."
"A top feature is the really good web interface and the classic Fortinet features, such as IPS, IDS, AV scanner, and spam filter."
"FortiGate integrates well."
"Use of this product does not require daily interactions."
"All the security features that are built into the product are valuable."
"FortiGate is a nice and very good product."
"It needs more available central management."
"Fortinet FortiGate can be integrated with different platforms. They have integrations in place, but I can't say they're 100%."
"Fortinet FortiGate is a firewall solution and once it's deployed, you can rest assured that your system is secure."
"The pricing could always be better."
"Fortinet FortiGate should improve the VPN tokens."
"Fortinet already improved FortiGate, but in the current market, many brands of security devices have improved together. Fortinet still needs to catch up with market standards. Fortinet is lacking in features in comparison to competitors."
"Quality control on their firmware versions needs improvement. When they introduce new firmware, there tend to be bugs."
"The initial setup is complex."
"In case the device is inaccessible due to some issue such as CPU or memory, there is no separate port or hardware partition provided for troubleshooting purposes."
"The solution could improve to have a DLP feature."
"The initial setup is difficult. It took me three tries to get it right. The setup took two or three hours."
"The product needs to improve support. They don't consider my case the number one priority even though I want a quick resolution."
"Zero touch removes any independence for configuring."
"There is room for improvement, especially concerning the integration with the management center. It would be beneficial if tasks that currently require scripts could be performed directly from the GUI."
"The migration to TerraForm is a little more complicated, but we made it work."
"Regarding CloudGuard Network Security's integration with various resources like application gateways and application-based security groups, there's room for exploring dynamic access in those areas. A significant concern is the upgrade process. Unlike an in-place upgrade, upgrading the tool in Azure requires deploying a new resource, which can be hectic and less reliable. We have to spend something new to have the tool's latest version."
"The user interface could be improved."
"The one thing that could be improved is the integration with the exchange. The gateway level controls can be enhanced a bit more. For example, it's still little here and there. You do get malicious attacks and suspicious emails like spam. It's not like Sophos where we got a lot of spam email, and yet, it's still relatively vulnerable. It can be upgraded, maybe with a fifth-generation firmware that it is ready for unknown threats."
"Improvements are needed for the responsive UI and JIT traffic reporting."
"Some issues with connecting to the VPN from home after firmware updates."
"In the next release, I would like to see integration capability with SIEM tools, such as QRadar, and LogRhythm."
"Data backup functionality could be included in the product."
"Price-wise, it could be slightly better, however, if you compared it to other makes and models of equal category, it is generally cheaper."
"There is always room for improvement in any solutions, including Fortinet's FortiGate-VM. Although the solution claims to have a superior throughput compared to other OEMs, upon closer examination and comparison, there is potential for significant improvement in this area. In today's rapidly evolving technology world, it is important to continuously strive for enhancement and development, and I believe Fortinet can make significant strides in this direction for the FortiGate-VM."
