We performed a comparison between Check Point Harmony Endpoint and SentinelOne based on our users’ reviews in five categories. After reading all of the collected data, you can find our conclusion below.
Comparison Results: Based on the parameters we compared, SentinelOne seems to be a slightly superior solution. All other things being more or less equal, our reviewers found Check Point Harmony Endpoint to be expensive.
"The console is easy to read. I also like the scanning part and the ability to move assets from one to the other."
"I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks."
"It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."
"The setup is pretty simple."
"The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration."
"It is stable and scalable."
"Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance."
"NGAV and EDR features are outstanding."
"One of the most valuable features is the Threat Emulation and Threat Extraction. These features are able to scan email attachments before the user is able to access the file and then provide a safe copy of the attachment. Malicious files never get to the users machine. This is a very valuable feature of this solution."
"The forensics allows us to search retrospectively for an URL or file opened by users, for example, when you need to quickly check who else has clicked on a phishing link."
"We love that we don't have to upgrade it anymore. They take care of that."
"In terms of network usage, it actually reduced the amount of malicious attacks that we had. Before, we really didn't have a secure network. Each endpoint had to protect itself and probably most of them were not actually protected. Now, it's an entire process in which we've been able to cut down significantly the amount of malicious attacks by 60 percent that we get in the organization. It helps us to adequately monitor what has been going on with our network traffic and stopping individual attacks from accessing certain sites where we want to have restrictions or limitations."
"The most valuable feature is Harmony Endpoint's encapsulation system which captures the whole system and protects it against other functions. It is really good for the Check Point Harmony specialists."
"It is very powerful tooling that can be tuned a lot."
"The real-time threat prevention capabilities stand out as a fortress against malware, ransomware, and evolving cyber threats, offering a proactive defense that safeguards our organization's critical assets."
"The end-user facilities for managing the tool are good."
"The single pane of glass is probably the most valuable. That is a big one. We could see everything from one view."
"The most valuable feature is that it just unintrusively works in the background to carry out the protection."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to drill down into individual sequences of processes."
"When there is an incident, the solution's Storyline feature gives you a timeline, the whole story, what it began with, what it opened, et cetera. You have the whole picture in one minute. You don't need someone to analyze the system, to go into the logs. You get the entire picture in the dashboard. The Storyline feature has made our response time very fast because we don't need to rely on outside help."
"The autonomous platform is valuable because we can separate false positives and negatives."
"I really like deep visibility. Deep visibility is one of the coolest features of almost any tool that we use. The breadth of data that is collected there is valuable, and it gives us the ability to search back through literally tons of data going back a specific period of time."
"SentinelOne is preferred because of its great features and nominal cost."
"The deep visibility feature is valuable. It is helping enrich our IR team in their investigations."
"They can include the automation for the realtime updates. We have a network infrastructure with remote sites. Whenever they send updates, they are not automated. We have to go into the console and push those updates. I wish it was more automated. The update file is currently around 31 MB. It could be smaller."
"The support needs improvement."
"To improve Fortinet, we need to see more features and technology areas at the endpoint level introduced."
"We'd like to see more one-to-one product presentations for the distribution channels."
"The only minor concern is occasional interference with desired programs."
"Making the portal mobile friendly would be helpful when I am out of office."
"ZTNA can improve latency."
"Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection."
"There are a number of features behind paywalls which can be frustrating when you are already paying a premium."
"Check Point Harmony is definitely pricier compared to other endpoints."
"They could be focused on the analysis of USB devices."
"A little change in the product's user interface is required since it is one of the areas where the product has certain shortcomings."
"Technical support needs to be improved, along with the response time."
"It would also be great to include DLP capabilities for the endpoint so that we do not have to deploy additional agents on servers or PCs or use additional products."
"I would like to see simple sandboxing for malware analysis."
"We cannot integrate this product with other solutions, which is something that should be improved."
"If it had a little bit more granularity in the roles and responsibilities matrix, that would help. There are users that have different components, but I'd be much happier if I could cherry-pick what functions I want to give to which users. That would be a huge benefit."
"In terms of improvement, they should work on agents' updates because that is not a strong part. It's not their strong point. It's not straightforward to upgrade agents. I send them questions about it. They already worked on this and they promised that in the next release that they will show me their solution for it. But this year I have had complaints about agents' updates, that they aren't clear."
"DLP support would be a good addition."
"Something we are looking forward to is the ability of the SentinelOne backend to ingest data from other sources. Now that they are moving to the Singularity data lake, we are looking forward to being able to query data that is not just collected by SentinelOne endpoint agents. We are looking forward to being able to query against all data that we are ingesting into that backend."
"I would appreciate seeing the browser extension react more effectively to events, going beyond mere detection."
"The mobile agents need improvement, especially in their integration with the dashboard of the normal Windows Image-based agents."
"The solution’s distributed intelligence at the endpoint is pretty effective, but from time to time I see that the agent is not getting the full execution history or command-line parameters. I would estimate the visibility into an endpoint is around 80 percent. There is 20 percent you don't see because, for some reason, the agents don't get all of the information."
"It is difficult to manage users in SentinelOne."
