Find out what your peers are saying about Netgate, Fortinet, OPNsense and others in Firewalls."The ability to set up remote systems is the most valuable feature."
"The most valuable feature of FortiGate is FortiView which provides proactive monitoring."
"One of the nice things about FortiGate is that it can be deployed on the cloud or on-premises. You can actually do both. That's the biggest reason why I stick with this solution as opposed to something like Cisco Meraki. Another nice thing is that I can log directly into a FortiGate or get to it through their FortiCloud access products. They're pretty reliable and consistent. One of the reasons why I started using the product was their single pane of management. I can deploy their line of firewalls in conjunction with their switching and access points, and I can manage the entire network from one interface. I don't have to log into one interface for the firewall, another one for the access points, and another one for the switches. These firewalls have access point controller functionality built right into the system, so I don't even have to purchase additional devices to manage them."
"The solution is extremely reliable."
"The most valuable feature is the interface, which is very user friendly. We are utilizing most of the features, like content filtering. The firewall is powerful."
"The web tutor and automatic rules by schedule are good features."
"The Intrusion Prevention System and the web filtering are both working well."
"The SD-WAN is the most valuable feature."
"Its most outstanding feature is content filtering."
"The product offers fairly good centralized administration and monitoring with decent capabilities that allow the administrator to have relevent control over devices."
"VPN clients are easy to use and deploy."
"Technical support has been good."
"They have many different options with Palo Alto WildFire and the set-up is quick. If you have all the details in hand, it does not take more than 15 minutes to deploy a firewall."
"It is stable and pretty much scalable."
"The most valuable feature for us is the VPN."
"The most valuable features of this solution are sandbox capabilities."
"For example, if a security Intel threat talks about an IOC. We can then go to our MSP and say, "Is there a signature for this particular type of malware that just came out?" And if they'll say yes, then we'll say, "Okay. Does it apply to these firewalls? And have we seen any hits on it?" There's absolutely value in it."
"The most valuable features are all of the security features in terms of protection and SSL and VPN."
"Their technical support is outstanding and top-notch."
"Stability is never a concern."
"Some of the web policy reports could be improved."
"It needs to improve its ISP load balancing."
"It would be a benefit if Fortinet would release a one-stop solution that is better integrated with other products and an automated emergency response system."
"There are some complex administration tasks in their administration portal. That needs to be improved."
"Fortinet FortiGate should improve the VPN tokens."
"The captive portal could be improved."
"The cloud management and automation capability could be improved."
"The customization could be improved. Cisco, for example, is much better at this. They need to work to be at least as good as they are."
"Every time we made a change, the policy took about three minutes to apply, and obviously, when there were emergency changes or changes that we needed that were escalated, they were not modified very, very quickly."
"Pricing is sometimes challenging, although it brings a lot of features."
"It should have excellent integration with the other security tools."
"The reporting from the file or reporting from mobile access needs improvement. The solution, in general, could use better reporting tools."
"When comparing this solution to others it is not as good overall."
"The initial setup was a little bit complex, mainly due to the GUI console and management challenges."
"The cost of this solution could still be improved, in particular, giving product discounts for charitable causes."
"In the future, Palo Alto could reduce the time it takes to process the file."
"The only problem with this solution is the cost. It's expensive."
"The global product feature needs improvement, the VPN, and we need some enhanced features."
"They provide a medium level of technical support."
"The product fails to offer protection when dealing with high-severity vulnerabilities, making it an area of concern where improvements are required."
