We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"What I like most about Cisco Intersight is its manageability.""We enjoy having an inside view of all the data centers and all the EdgeX nodes within a single portal rather than going into the EdgeX connections one by one.""The product has good integration.""Our organization uses Cisco Intersight since it helps manage our physical infrastructure.""Cisco Intersight has valuable features for workflow automation and inventory administration.""Intersight can validate our environment.""Provides an overall view using a single portal.""The tool helps to manage Cisco servers."

"One of the most valuable features of ITRS Geneos is the active time feature that helps with the trading applications that I support.""This tool allows one to analyse, integrate and customize as per the systems and allows you to set your own rules.""One of the most valuable features is that it can be configured by non-developers. It doesn't require development expertise to configure it.""ITRS can define rules to alert when certain parameters that you monitor breach a threshold. Rules can be configured to fire recovery actions automatically to clear the alert""The Netprobe is so lightweight compared to the agents that most monitoring tools use. It's really superior to the competition. The agent that is used by almost every competitive tool takes a lot more system resources. It's slower and it requires a greater effort and more compromises in terms of security to install on the monitored servers. With Geneos, because it lives outside the code, it is far easier and far less taxing on the monitored systems.""The biggest benefit of Geneos is the fact that we can clearly see, if we have an alert, where that alert has come from. We can see the data around that alert and anything that might be relevant is also shown. We can very easily right-click and see why we've received that alert. That's the best part about it, that you've got all the data there with the alerting.""Geneos automatically sends email notifications when any batch job fails, the database is down or the website is down. It is automatically monitoring everything and reduces manual effort.""Real-time log monitoring with desktop alerts is valuable as it tells us immediately when there is an issue."

Cons
"An area for improvement in Cisco Intersight is automation. It needs more automation capabilities. Apart from enhanced automation, I want Cisco Intersight to integrate with third-party monitoring tools in its next release.""The product's setup should be easier.""The solution needs some enhancement in order to build the cluster in two nodes.""Cisco Intersight needs some improvement in terms of stability. Hybrid cloud management and proper hyperscaler tie-up are other areas for improvement.""It's a very complex solution.""The unique problem with Cisco Intersight is that it's not supporting some players.""When new features are added, the service becomes full of bugs.""The product could be easy to use."

"Their cloud monitoring solution needs to be improved. I have already given them the feedback that it's not capable of meeting the latest technology needs.""I would like to see ITRS integrate its setup editor with a SVN to check-in setup XML after major changes.""For the solution to stay relevant in the cloud-based monitoring environment Geneos needs more plug-ins with more features. Instead of offering clients workarounds, the solution should have a cloud-based out-of-the-box version.""Data visualization – real time and historical – is a weakness.""The deployment method for upgrading is a bit tricky. It takes a little bit of manual effort. If that could be a bit more automated, it would help us a lot.""Mobile phone integration is probably not as rich as it could be.""Geneos' application monitoring could be improved a lot. Products like AppDynamics and Dynatrace provide the process thread-level monitoring, but Geneos lacks these capabilities.""Backward compatibility with deprecated features and in system documentation on what configuration areas are needed to be updated."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Cisco Intersight is not cheap, but it's not the most expensive product either."
  • "It's just the standard licensing cost. There are no additional fees."
  • "Cisco Intersight has competitive pricing. On a scale of one to five, my rating for its pricing is four."
  • "You can get a free license for monitoring but need to purchase a license if you need extra control."
  • "The product is cost-effective."
  • More Cisco Intersight Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "You will get the best price if you get a single global deal."
  • "The product is priced quite high. There are pricing options for customers based on the size of the environment and plug-ins used by the monitoring system."
  • "Pricing and licensing is based on the requirements."
  • "The licensing cost may seem expensive upfront. However, the service is outstanding, the tool does things that no other tools can do, and the customizability more than makes up for the cost of licensing."
  • "Pricing is the touchy subject, even here. Upper management always wants us to find a cheaper solution. But we have so much integrated with ITRS... It's expensive, but it does its job very well. And you set it and go."
  • "It is expensive. They have to look at the model around when we move to cloud and how that's going to work. The licensing cost does pay off because of the improvements in support to our business."
  • "When I first came in, their pricing was very high. ITRS had a high expectation of what their price should be based on perceived value. I think they have been realizing, more recently, that there are other competitors, so their pricing is a lot better. Licensing for on-premise is okay, however I feel there is quite some work to be done for cloud and containers. We're still working with them to try and work out what that pricing should look like."
  • "Given our spend and the amount of service we have in it, the pricing is quite reasonable."
