We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The initial setup is not overly complex or difficult.""Autopilot is the most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune.""If you need only to load a specific profile and you don't have deep security functionalities, et cetera, Intune is very nice and good.""It's easy to manage.""The most valuable features are the ones that make sure that the deployment is of a standard operating system and the Zero Touch deployment, which is very useful. This allows users to have an out of box experience.""Autopilot is a great feature. Most users are looking for a zero-touch deployment.""A great solution for anyone wanting a modern endpoint device management solution.""While Microsoft Intune boasts a wide range of features, its user-friendliness and bundled licensing cost are key considerations for me."

"The central management console on the cloud is fast and is the solution's most valuable feature.""The web portal provides status reporting and ease of configuration.""I have found the location analytics feature that is built into the APs to be the most valuable. It allows you to compare data and to single out individuals who are repeatedly coming into your store. We can observe different trends. This is what separates it from a lot of the other solutions.""We use this solution for MDM.""Security is the main feature because the company is reliable.""The most significant benefit is that the deployment is quick and painless. You don't need a specialized IT department to implement and scale the network. It's easy to maintain, too. It only requires one or two network administrators.""We experience no downtime, no breakdowns, all the user readings are exact, and it gives us quick analysis so we can apply security measures.""It's robust, and we like the device availability, ease of purchase, and supplier stock availability."

"Jamf cut the time it takes to deploy a new machine to a new user.""It is a first-rate product and well known in the industry as the gold standard for Apple device management.""Some of the most valuable features for us include remote management, DEP enrollment, and zero-touch deployment.""The most valuable features are the restrictions, Lost Mode, Self Service, and full implementation of anything Apple will let MDM manage.""It is a great tool. Its ease of use is fantastic. It is very simple, and you don't really have a high learning curve with this.""Smart groups and just the way MDM works are valuable. We like all the features that they have. We try to use it as much as possible, and then we have the support and community involvement to reach out to.""Users love that instead of having to wait for tickets to be resolved, they can open an app and run a specific policy.""The DEP enrollment is quite good. We're planning to migrate to the Jamf cloud this month."

Cons
"The installation could be improved to be simplified.""An issue we have run into with Microsoft Endpoint Manager is that we cannot patch third-party products like Adobe and Chrome with it.""Reporting in Microsoft solutions is pathetic. With Intune, I'm getting a free inventory tool, but I don't get a reporting tool. When I go to Intune, I can see one machine's entire data in terms of the hardware and the software running on it, but I cannot generate a report for all the machines in the organization. The reporting is the only feature holding back the functionality that is already there.""I'd suggest adding more features for macOS in Intune. There should be more functionality for managing macOS. There should be a better capability for pushing things down on macOS. Currently, Intune is not capable of managing macOS at the same level as Windows.""They can improve their MAM policies a little bit more and make them more granular. They should include more granular group policies. They are there, but they need to be more granular. Its stability should also be improved. It is not very stable. Sometimes, it shows some inconsistencies across tenants.""The reports that are generated aren't so great. They don't give a lot of meaning so far, but that could be down to user knowledge than the actual reporting side of things. I'm not a big user of it, but I was a bigger user of MaaS360, and we used to be able to run weekly and monthly reports. In the case of any deviations. we'd get a warning immediately. That's not so easy to do or to get in place for Intune. This could be just a user issue, but when I compare both, that's the only thing that's lacking for me.""The Mac integration has room for improvement.""It would be great if Intune offered better data protection controls for BYOD Windows PCs."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"The price could be better.""System's compatibility with Google Chrome could be improved.""The price of the solution could be reduced.""It would be beneficial to have better integration with other OS.""Security could be improved, and there could be more features that enable you to customize the end customer solution.""It doesn't seem to be able to establish some VPN tunnels with other devices in a particular way that such as an ASA can do for us.""The tool's pricing needs to be more flexible like Cisco's.""Cisco's authorized scripting can be complicated. For example, we sometimes enter the wrong code using this script, and then we had to dictate to find the problem."

More Cisco Meraki Systems Manager (MDM+EMM) Cons →

"A dark mode would for sure be appreciated.""For patch management in Jamf, two Smart Groups are required as patch policies cannot be scoped as of now. This is not a major issue, as there is a great workaround by using a wrapped "member of" duplicate Smart Group. However, being able to avoid two Smart Groups for patch management would be nice.""There's only one thing that I would like to see improved. It's potentially being worked on right now, actually. That is the ability to provide remote support access to use those devices. I'd like it to work in a similar manner to Desktop Central or other solutions like Team Viewer.""There is room for improvement with Jamf Pro, especially regarding updates.""I would love to see more integration with ASM and ABM.""The solution needs cheaper training.""We would love to see the ability to have settings apply to mobile devices on a time schedule. This would allow us to plan some tasks ahead of time.""I'm not exactly sure where it could be improved off the top of my head, but there is room for improvement."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

Every user is unique. Every device, a bit different. Systems Manager keeps the network in the loop about constantly changing devices, automatically tracking device posture and adjusting security policies to match.

    Reviews from Real Users

Jamf Pro stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Some of these include its app deployment, its easy installation, and the fact that it’s lightweight but powerful. PeerSpot users take note of the advantages of these features in their reviews:

An IT Support Specialist at Visby Medical writes, “The first most valuable feature I found was the ability to simply push out applications to devices, Mac or iPads/iPhones. It's as easy as procuring the licensing for the apps and then setting it to the volume purchasing back in Jamf.”

Another reviewer, a Desktop Engineer at Kroger, notes, “The self-service portal to share scripts and other tasks that have extremely minimized the need for calls to our support teams, or even sharing the applications we package and allowing users to pick and choose what apps they need or want, instead of just blanket installing everything from our old environment.”
