We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Application performance has greatly improved and there are less operational issues. Productivity has been going up because we have less operational issues. Also, we have happy customers.""It has the ability to quickly block new threats.""The reports and notifications are the most useful part of the platform. As soon as you deploy the security layers, the reporting is very comprehensive. It helps you to have, at a glance, a clear view of what's going on.""The implementation is pretty easy.""The core business of Cisco Umbrella is non-malware. That's all it does: block the malware on the gateway.""The Global Block List is one of the most valuable features because it's really easy to block domain names as well as URLs. Sometimes you don't want to block the whole site, you just want to block one URL. The Global Block and Allow Lists are the best features for us.""A single pane of glass saves time... This does have a lot of options available for us to see who's doing what, what trends, what errors. We can set up our alerting through it as well. It is definitely a great dashboard.""Stability-wise, it's good. I have never encountered any bugs."

"I like that Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection is one hundred percent good, performance-wise.""The most valuable features of Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection are the services, DHCP, and debugging. Additionally, we can use APIs and ansible scripts.""The solution's user interface is very smooth compared to other products.""Centralized management of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM helped us a lot in simplifying and automating the management of network and services.""The most valuable feature of Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection is its performance and visibility.""Infoblox Secure DNS helped us protect our internal environment by mitigating and stopping attacks through the Internet using DNS protocols and queries.""Grid high availability technology ensured network reliability, resilient network services, failover, recovery, and seamless maintenance.""The main advantages with Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection are the dashboards, the reporting system, and they have the GUI interface."

Cons
"The reporting could be improved by way of the information that's displayed. For example, when you pull a report, it shows an internal employee going to many websites, but you can spin that right down by saying a lot of it is being cached.""They need to improve analytics so they report on more of the specifics of user activity.""In the future, they should combine some of the Cisco AMP features that they already have, for anti-malware purposes.""In my experience with Umbrella support, sometimes the response times take a bit more time than we would like... sometimes, if you go through email, it can take quite a while to get a response.""We would like them to add more features to Cisco Umbrella.""We faced an issue regarding virtual appliances (VAs) during deployment. They could improve the quality and management of the virtual appliances offered right now. You can't see much because it is a Linux machine, and they have customized it. You don't have any route access to the machine, only seeing limited things in it. When we opened a ticket, they didn't know much about VAs themselves. So, that is where it is lacking right now. I know this will improve in the long run.""It would be good to have more extensions to third-party products and a client for other device types.""It's easier for us to have support features with companies who are Cisco representatives, but sometimes, it's hard for us to get the help we need without having to use our contacts within Cisco."

More Cisco Umbrella Cons →

"Infoblox lacks an extensive product portfolio.""There is a steep learning curve to be able to use Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection well.""They are not supporting high query logging. They have a very limited size for the syslog, so they are usually asking for external storage, external network, and integration in order to keep the syslog. If you are considering the high volume traffic of the carrier-grade, then the syslog will hold for around five to 10 minutes. This is not enough time and it is being rotated. This is the main issue and the main limitation that we face with them that they need to work on.""Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection could be more user-friendly because you need knowledge if you want to use it. To handle the solution, you need to be a subject matter expert, so this is one area for improvement.""The price could be reduced to improve the solution.""The solution's logging could be improved.""The solution is expensive.""There needs to be more capabilities in order to configure the console itself instead of the user interface dashboard. Configuring the DNS or DHCP through the console instead of the GUI dashboard would be better."

It makes for good flexibility. The solution is very easy to manage. We found the initial setup, for example, to be quite simple. Efficient protection on the DNS level and even higher. The sandboxing feature analyses and handles the complicated security risks.”

Victor M., SOC & Security Services Director at BEST, notes, “It provides security for the remote workers and it helps to improve enterprise security in a very easy way. We mainly enjoy web software protection capabilities. It prevents the end-users from getting into bad sites or sites that potentially could have malware or could be phishing. It helps end-users avoid the wrong sites. The solution works very smoothly. The user interface is good.”
