We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The App is the most valuable feature.""Citrix has had the top remote display for the last 20 years, and there is a huge technological gap between Citrix and its competitors.""Instead of pointing to any single feature, I would say the most valuable aspect of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops is the overall product itself. Virtualized apps and desktops, in theory and in practice, are very helpful to users.""The scalability is fine. We have about 400 users, who are supported by six staff members. We use the product company-wide throughout 40 different locations, and we currently do not have plans to increase the scale of use.""XenApp is a fast, secure and reliable solution for remote connections that is completely different than and superior to older Windows solutions.""The ROI for us has been that when we had Hurricane Harvey last year, Xendesktop came in very handy for us. Even though people had electricity in Texas, many networks were down. Our offices could still get into our network and do work that was needed. It is an excellent virtual office that works anywhere, anytime and anyplace. It is worth our investment.""We've been able to scale the environment quite nicely by using the Citrix Remote PC. I can't say enough about that. And because that relies on utilizing your existing hardware resources, and making those available as a part of your Citrix farm — with a second level of authentication and security pieces around it — we added some 4,000 workstations without an additional overhead or cost.""The remote desktop feature allows employees to work from home."

"The most valuable feature is the ability to share folders and run Active Directory.""The most valuable feature is the stability of the solution.""Microsoft Virtual Server is stable.""It has proven to be most effective for workloads associated with running web portals.""It is an expensive platform. I rate its pricing an eight out of ten.""Microsoft Virtual Server is user-friendly.""The most valuable feature is the tool's cheap cost.""The greatest aspect of the solution is its capability to be available from anywhere."

Cons
"We have had issues with certain aspects, which is why we are looking for alternatives. For example, the firewall solution from Citrix is a bit complicated. Integration is hard.""Scalability depends on the server and the number of users in the organization.""Pricing and technical support needs improvement.""I have to re-enter my user password when I am not using the tool for some time around ten minutes. I want to also improve the need to download other Citrix apps.""Latency is also a major problem when adopting Citrix for video editing software or 3D editing software, especially editing 4K video or large file size. The Citrix virtualized solution becomes too slow, so we cannot use the VDI.""The initial setup has room for improvement.""The product’s customization feature needs improvement.""The monitoring and management is in need of improvement."

"The interface should be improved.""The bandwidth to Singapore could be scaled better.""In terms of what could be improved, pricing is always too high of course.""The platform’s dashboard features could be better.""Microsoft Virtual Server needs to improve its patching. It should offer us a review before updates. The solution should also improve its pricing.""The tool must provide updates less frequently.""The response time from technical support could be faster.""The solution should be more user-friendly and cheaper."
