Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"For regular backup and restore solutions, this product is fine.""The initial setup is pretty straightforward, it's not complex."

More CloudEndure Disaster Recovery Pros »

"The solution is stable.""The most valuable features of Cohesity DataProtect are SpanFS and the handling of hybrid workloads.""The ease of use and the GUI have really been most valuable to us. Configuring the system to do what we need is simple and straight forward and a lot of guesswork has been removed. One of my favorite features with Cohesity is Kroll for Exchange item-level recovery. The software is simple to use and fast.""The system automatically takes down the nodes one at a time and performs the upgrade and brings the node back up before proceeding to the next. Upgrades can now be done at any time with a high level of confidence.""The ability to essentially instantly recover a VM and have it run on the Cohesity Platform while all those bits are technically being recovered in the background is useful to us.""Cohesity is extremely easy to use and intuitive.""The most valuable feature is ease of use.""With the ability to stage an entire lifecycle through versioning, integrated with AWS, it has made it possible to protect our corporation from end to end."

Cons
"I would like to see better support for creating and working with archives.""The user interface, customer support, and the recovery time for the current customer query could use improvement."

More CloudEndure Disaster Recovery Cons »

"The GUI is in need of improvement.""Better support for legacy platforms would be nice, but we should be moving off those anyway.""Features I would like to see include a more visible data lifecycle monitoring tab, and an easier to read backup status dashboard.""I would like to see the management of multiple nodes inside a tenant. If you want to manage a Cohesity environment, you either go on a per-node base, and you can hop from one node to the other, or you need to implement their SaaS capability but it always needs an internet connection. We would really like to have some kind of local management entity so that we can see all the Cohesity nodes in a customer environment and manage those nodes centrally. That's something that we would really like, and they are really working on it.""I'd like to be able to pause a backup while it's running and have it resume when I tell it to resume.""In terms of what could be improved, it just needs some maturity.""Better documentation is needed because the lack of information has necessitated having our team depend more heavily on Cohesity support.""The error handling could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
Information Not Available
"Sizing is important and it is easy to overestimate.""Pricing, setup costs, etc. are pretty typical. The initial cost for Cohesity was less than other products the we evaluated. Cohesity's pricing does offer benefits as DR target costs are less than other solutions. You are not charged for DataProtect licensing for target DR data consumption.""My advice is to always negotiate for better pricing.""I expect the system to probably pay off within the first two years.""With respect to pricing, make sure that you look at both Rubrik and Cohesity as they are very similar and are quite competitive.""The pricing model is impressive and very effective.""The solution's pricing is quite high, more so than that of its competitors, Veeam, Veritas and Rubrik.""It has reasonable pricing, and we know they can give discounts. If you look at the primary pricing or the list pricing, it conforms to the market pricing, but you have to have a discount on it. Otherwise, it is way too expensive."
