Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It provides our disaster recovery solution. It works fine in our tests.""The initial setup is pretty straightforward, it's not complex.""CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is a fairly stable solution.""We went from an organization with minimal to no disaster recovery. I was able to spin up the disaster recovery environment with AWS rather quickly and meet business requirements.""Technical support has been very good. They usually respond quickly to our requests.""The solution is dependent on the network bandwidth. For example, if they have a bandwidth of 10Mbps the solution will run a little heavier. If the bandwidth is good the solution runs well.""The initial setup is really straightforward.""The setup is pretty straightforward."

"The most valuable feature is the ease of use.""The recovery time is fantastic and proven. Also, by providing a simple interface, the solution lowers the cost.""Provides easy, one-click functionality and flexible backup policies and schedules for AWS workloads.""The product is successful with the SMB market.""The initial setup is easy.""N2WS Backup & Recovery is very easy to use and configure backup for AWS instances.""The backup and restore functionality is very easy to use and manage.""The backup and recovery are the most valuable features. So, our developers can work with confidence."

Cons
"The only thing I would like to see is, they don't have a formal ticketing system. There is no way I can go back and see what questions we had six months back, what issues we had, and how they were resolved.""The bandwidth is a constant upload communication to the AWS DR environment, so if you do not have the proper bandwidth, it will definitely eat up your internet line.""The UI could be a little sleeker.""Sometimes a server will get a bit behind. ""Definitely there should be better logging. From a customer perspective I would like to see more logs on what is happening. If there is an issue, I would like to know what the problem is. Right now, we have to depend on the support of the vendor to check and let us know, because we don't have access to a lot of logging information.""The solution's network setup and a lot of the control tower setup could be improved.""I set up a test, deleted the source, and went to fail it back, and it didn't work.""The failback could be improved. It should be more intuitive."

More AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery Cons →

"The UI is a little dated and hard to use. Some of the buttons are a bit small. You have to go into the menu to get the settings you want.""The GUI could be slightly improved.""Additional features I would like to see are the ability to restore to different vendors, AWS and Azure, and/or the ability or take the information out of the AWS cloud.""More documentation would be helpful, especially some step-by-step documents for recovery scenarios.""There is room for improvement in stability.""It's a global feature that the customer thinks they don't have enough tools to manage, to copy, to delay, and to classify the object file in the backup directory. So they need more tools to manage files in object directory.""The GUI has room for improvement.""The solution has the option to take backup on-prem servers, but it's not very efficient."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "We were happy with the pricing that they gave us."
  • "They license us on a per machine basis. We have a set number of machines, which we have licensed."
  • "I feel the product's pricing is a good value. Licensing is pretty straightforward."
  • "The pricing is better now that they had come out with the Tier 2 which replicates a little less often. In comparison to what I would have been spending with any other type of solution, the pricing is fair."
  • "Where the price adds up, there are CloudEndure licenses, then there is the AWS environment, and finally, there is the AWS storage, so cumulatively, it adds up."
  • "It has saved us money from having to buy hardware for disaster recovery."
  • "CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is charging clients $20 to do the DR backups. It is an expensive solution."
  • "I rate the price of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery a six out of ten."

  • "The purchasing process through the AWS Marketplace is easy. Just click the button."
  • "The pricing and licensing on AWS is fine, because you can do it for smaller tiers depending on your number of instances, so it's not that scary."
  • "AWS adds more features and offer things for free, or cheaply. Therefore, we will be evaluating AWS Data Lifecycle Manager, because it will probably do backups. Thus, make sure the product that you are using is competitive or adds more value than AWS."
  • "It's very economical and worth the cost."
  • "It has very good pricing per instance and comes with three options, for both small and large environments, to fit your needs."
  • "The price is not cheap, nor is it costly."

    Overview

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) minimizes downtime and data loss with fast, reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications using affordable storage, minimal compute, and point-in-time recovery.

Set up AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery on your source servers to initiate secure data replication. Your data is replicated to a staging area subnet in your AWS account, in the AWS Region you select. The staging area design reduces costs by using affordable storage and minimal compute resources to maintain ongoing replication. You can perform non-disruptive tests to confirm that implementation is complete. During normal operation, maintain readiness by monitoring replication and periodically performing non-disruptive recovery and failback drills. If you need to recover applications, you can launch recovery instances on AWS within minutes, using the most up-to-date server state or a previous point in time. After your applications are running on AWS, you can choose to keep them there, or you can initiate data replication back to your primary site when the issue is resolved. You can fail back to your primary site whenever you’re ready.

N2WS Backup & Recovery is a comprehensive backup and recovery solution designed to protect critical data and applications in the cloud. The solution is highly regarded for its ease of use, making it a popular choice for organizations of all sizes. With its help, users can easily manage backups, schedule backups, and restore data and applications with just a few clicks.

N2WS Backup & Recovery also has a range of advanced features, including automated backup policies, cross-region replication, and disaster recovery capabilities.
