Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We have never had any issues with scalability.""We went from an organization with minimal to no disaster recovery. I was able to spin up the disaster recovery environment with AWS rather quickly and meet business requirements.""The most valuable aspect of CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is its instant block replication feature. This allows us to perform live block verification and eliminates the need to concern ourselves with recovery point objectives. This capability is particularly advantageous for critical workloads.""The initial setup is pretty straightforward, it's not complex.""The setup is pretty straightforward.""Technical support has been very good. They usually respond quickly to our requests.""The initial setup is really straightforward.""CloudEndure Disaster Recovery is a fairly stable solution."

"The backups, especially of the incremental type, are really quick (ranging from five to 10 to 45 to 50 minutes depending on the size of the VM).""This solution was surprisingly easy to configure.""The product is good for protecting very low-budget offices, whereas other solutions fail in terms of cost and footprint of the VMs involved.""Nakivo's backup and replication product has allowed us to implement a disaster recovery solution with a target repository in the cloud.""They reply immediately to any query raised from us as a technician or consultant and they know the pulse of the market and keep updating the features in such a big way.""The features that I have found most valuable are that it is a cheaper price and user-friendly.""The ability to use a variety of cloud providers rather than being tied into one is a huge bonus.""Nakivo offers direct support through the graphical interface and this is great to have if you need quick help."

Cons
"The solution's network setup and a lot of the control tower setup could be improved.""I set up a test, deleted the source, and went to fail it back, and it didn't work.""The UI could be a little sleeker.""I have not seen any areas that need improvement at this time.""I would like to see better support for creating and working with archives.""The only thing I would like to see is, they don't have a formal ticketing system. There is no way I can go back and see what questions we had six months back, what issues we had, and how they were resolved.""The bandwidth is a constant upload communication to the AWS DR environment, so if you do not have the proper bandwidth, it will definitely eat up your internet line.""Sometimes a server will get a bit behind. "

More AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery Cons →

"Due to the fact that we are HP and Fugit partners as well, it would be nice if Nakivo would allow support for HP and Fugit storage.""While the solution provides mostly what we need, it would be ideal if there were some additional feature capabilities for the API.""When you schedule some jobs, you should be able to see a list of the jobs contained within each. You have to open up the editor to see what is inside. You must click through and edit stuff. Each time, it asks you to save or discard changes. It's very annoying. You only see the name of the scheduled job, and you need to edit it to see what's it's inside.""It would be good if I could have a remote upgrade of our Synology Transporters, but the manual upgrade is easy and no problem at all.""In the future, it would be nice to have support for Zimbra email, Collabora Office, and the NextCloud content collaboration platform.""In the future, I would like to see support for backing up data to more cloud platforms, besides Amazon.""The only thing I could say is maybe some more options for job scheduling are needed.""So far, there is no version that supports Polish. If such a version existed, many customers in our region would decide to purchase and implement this solution."

    Overview

AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery (AWS DRS) minimizes downtime and data loss with fast, reliable recovery of on-premises and cloud-based applications using affordable storage, minimal compute, and point-in-time recovery.

Set up AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery on your source servers to initiate secure data replication. Your data is replicated to a staging area subnet in your AWS account, in the AWS Region you select. The staging area design reduces costs by using affordable storage and minimal compute resources to maintain ongoing replication. You can perform non-disruptive tests to confirm that implementation is complete. During normal operation, maintain readiness by monitoring replication and periodically performing non-disruptive recovery and failback drills. If you need to recover applications, you can launch recovery instances on AWS within minutes, using the most up-to-date server state or a previous point in time. After your applications are running on AWS, you can choose to keep them there, or you can initiate data replication back to your primary site when the issue is resolved. You can fail back to your primary site whenever you’re ready.
