Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Better than TeamViewer and useful for fixing problems remotely.""ConnectWise Connect is very convenient as we can remote to a PC even when it is not within our LAN.""I've noted an ROI while using the solution.""The initial setup is fairly straightforward.""I do love the monitoring page. If you are using ConnectWise Control, which is the on-prem version, when you are logged into the admin panel, there is a status page that checks network connectivity, the status of the license, and so on.""You can bring up a command prompt remotely and execute commands without having to disturb the user.""Due to the fact that we can help our clients virtually, the solution has allowed us to reduce our travel costs by about 90%.""Control lets us do remote management of machines without having to be on the VPN. It's super simple and super easy."

"It is a scalable product.""The implementation is quite straightforward.""I have found the solution to be user-friendly even for beginners. It is not that sophisticated. There are different types of security features available, such as encryption and random machine ID.""The solution is scalable.""It saves trips to customer sites, which saves time. I am able to get in there remotely and fix things.""The most valuable features of I use TeamViewer are the ease of access and frequent updates.""The product is quite stable. The performance is good.""The implementation process is simple."

Cons
"I was not thrilled with their support. I do not have a lot of time to deal with the attention which is needed to fix issues.""There needs to be a way to run the agent without installing, like GoToAssist.""We have had issues. We have had circumstances, for reasons we don't know, where the service will stop running, and when the service stops running that computer no longer becomes reachable. We haven't really seen that so much on desktops, but we have seen that happen quite frequently on server operating systems, Server 2008, Server 2012. You can install the product and then a week down the road it will just stop.""I would like to see more overlap, meaning, I would like to be able to see what processes are running on a computer, for example, or what services are running.""On a Linux machine, there are different limitations that are not there on a Windows Server. Much more limitations exist on Linux deployments.""I really didn't care for the onboarding process and it is something that should be improved.""For my company, just installing the software and using it is very easy. But if I need to give one of my customers access to their machines, the process that you have to go through is some 15 to 20 steps. You have to create a group, and then you have to assign a policy. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to set up someone for remote access to their own machine.""Reporting could definitely use improvement. With LogMeIn Rescue, I used to be able to, for instance, at the end of the month, pull off a report of every session. It was very simple... I could see the name that was typed in, the IP address to the computer that it was connected to, if it was running Windows... It just doesn't seem - there might be but I haven't found it - to be a way of pulling that information out of ConnectWise."

"A feature that they could add is chat with sound to talk.""We'd like to be able to work from mobile to desktop and vice versa. We'd like more mobility.""I would like to see TeamViewer support multiple platforms.""TeamViewer can improve connectivity. I had some problems connecting to my clients and now I use AnyDesk.""The business interface is clunky and not well-documented.""The product can sometimes crash.""It's pretty limited on the options they have.""If were to I put myself in the seat of a small business owner, I would prefer TeamViewer to be more of a pay-once-and-own-it solution, rather than paying via a subscription model (although I am using the free version). Only annual subscriptions are available. It makes paying for it the first time seem a little daunting."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Good price and works well."
  • "Their licensing model is good, their pricing model is good, their service is good; bandwidth is excellent. They're consistent."
  • "I think the product's pricing is a good value. I paid $600 a year and that was fine for me. It was about $50 a month. Licensing is all very straightforward."
  • "It is priced well and it is still a great value. Although I have been reading a lot about Splashtop. They are getting pretty competitive on their pricing, including a fairly easy to use remote support for mobile applications, like iOS and Android."
  • "Pricing is fair for Control and the licensing is simple."
  • "The cloud version is relatively inexpensive, but the on-premise version is expensive if you do not need three technicians, only one or two for concurrent sessions."
  • "It is priced fairly."
  • "Make sure you have enough licensing for all the techs that you have."
  • More ConnectWise ScreenConnect Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "TeamViewer pricing is reasonable... The simultaneous controller licensing model of TeamViewer - compared to LogMeIn’s controlled Host licensing model - seems to benefit us so far. We’re currently saving about 30 percent on licensing cost... The savings from licensing have been eaten up by the soft costs involved in dealing with and working around TeamViewer’s deficiencies in allowing granular control by multiple controllers, and the issues with the various settings that are missing on the macOS Host."
  • "The cost of the licenses depends on how you buy them. They just had a buy one get one free deal going, and they do that every once in a while. Where you buy one license, and they will give you the second one free, or you can try to get discounts. Most of our licenses that we have we tried to do something like that just to save some money."
  • "It has probably saved us several thousands of dollars because we have quick access anywhere. We don't have to worry about finding people onsite or arranging conference calls. We also save time and money with it because we don't have to send somebody onsite to troubleshoot."
  • "TeamViewer offers a free version to try. Download and give it a shot. See what it's like and if you like it, then buy the license for it."
  • "...it will cost you $1,500 to $1,600 a year, but when I think of how much work I do through TeamViewer..."
  • "It does what I need it to do but I think it's expensive. It wasn't easy for me to get approval from the company to get it... It's costing us about $700 a year, per license."
  • "TeamViewer is $600 or $700 per port per year..."
  • "The cost is in the thousands of dollars per year."
