Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution was relatively easy to deploy.""Fortinet is very user-friendly for customers.""This is stable and scalable.""The console is easy to read. I also like the scanning part and the ability to move assets from one to the other.""The price is low and quite competitive with others.""I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks.""Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out.""The setup is pretty simple."

"It gives all the information in a clear response.""Cybereason's threat hunting and investigation are the most valuable features. Threat hunting is a user-friendly feature that keeps you safe. Investigation offers an added value that I haven't seen with other EDR services. It allows you to find specific policy problems within your environment.""Their EDR solution, the ability to mitigate issues through their command line, is probably the best feature that we've had. We use that all the time. It's very useful for doing investigations.""For me, the technical support is good.""The initial setup process is straightforward.""The initial setup was easy and straightforward.""Immediately we can pick up the computers in the network if any malicious operation that is triggered.""I haven't had any issues with the solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."

"Your workstation doesn't slow down, unlike when you use Symantec, for example.""The tool will query the information from the cloud to identify suspicious or malicious files that can be a threat. It will provide you with real-time updates on the latest and ongoing attacks and malware information.""The most valuable features are the DLP and anti-virus functionality.""The administration through the cloud is valuable.""It is their most comprehensive endpoint protection solution. It includes DLP and Office 365. It also includes device control and the rest of the little bells and whistles that the traditional AV vendors have.""The most valuable feature of Trend Micro Smart Protection is automatic scanning.""Helps with vulnerability and patch management, making it easier to provide top-notch services to our customers.""Trend Micro Smart Protection has good features like malware analysis, C-to-C connection and detection, workbench, auto security play with features, and lots of DDI features."

Cons
"The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection.""There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors.""We find the solution to be a bit expensive.""Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation.""We've had a lot of false positives; things incorrectly flagged that require manual configuration to allow. Even worse, after we allow a legitimate program, it sometimes gets flagged again after an update. This has caused a lot of extra work for my team.""I think cloud security and SASE are areas of concern in the product where improvements are required. The tool's cloud version has to be improved in terms of the security it offers.""I haven't seen the use of AI in the solution.""It takes about two business days for initial support, which is too slow in urgent situations."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"Ad hoc higher-level reporting to senior management can be improved or can be implemented. That's definitely an area of improvement that they need to focus on.""What needs to improve in Cybereason Endpoint Detection & Response and what I'd like to see in its next release is a centralized dashboard that allows you to view what is there, similar to what's on Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager: a beautiful display and reporting. Cybereason Endpoint Detection & Response has to start with the compliance, the homepage, etc. Everything should be there and should be customizable. The options should be there. The tool is very good currently, but visibility for IT administrators is lacking and needs to be worked on.""It initially took some time to deploy.""Cybereason does not have sandbox functionality.""Compared to our previous endpoint, we have a lot more false positives and a lot more duplication of alerts. So we're chasing more alerts.""The reporting feature needs improvement.""The integration with Microsoft solutions and Microsoft capabilities needs to be improved.""There can be problems with the EDI."

More Cybereason Endpoint Detection & Response Cons →

"The threat response could be a bit better.""This product would be improved if it had more monitoring capabilities so that it could stop threats before they break into the network and damage it.""There are no data loss prevention features.""Trend Micro Smart Protection needs to improve its compliance features to cover more domains, such as BCIDSS rules. Enhancements in this area would enable quicker and more comprehensive compliance reporting.""It is onsite. It does have its challenges in terms of scalability.""Trend Micro Smart Protection could improve automatic scanning because sometimes it pops up when I am doing my work. It would be helpful to have a feature to have it only automatically scan when the system is on standby mode. I would be able to be more efficient with my work. Additionally, security could improve.""The only notable concern is the level of support in the particular region of Sri Lanka. Following events in the past two years, the quality of technical support has regrettably declined.""Some functionalities within the DLP can be improved."

  • "There are no issues with the pricing."
  • "The price is comprable to other endpoint security solutions."
  • "The pricing is typical for enterprises and fairly priced."
  • "I'm not familiar with pricing, but it looks a bit costly compared to other vendors I think."

  • "In terms of pricing, it's a good solution."
  • "This product is somewhat expensive and should be cheaper."
  • "We considered a few other solutions. Some were ridiculously overpriced, while others didn't have solutions for Mac endpoints. That was a deal-breaker because most of our organization is on Mac. It came down to two vendors: Cybereason and another. They had similar pitches and almost identical approaches, but in the end, Cybereason gave us the best value for our money."
  • "I had to go through a third-party to purchase it, which I wasn't really pleased about."
  • "On a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the pricing an eight."
  • "The pricing is manageable."

  • "We pay for the solution on a yearly basis. We pay approximately 100 Euros a year per user. There are no additional fees above this."
  • "This solution provides good value for the price."
  • "The licensing is on a yearly basis and I believe our organization paid about $2,000/year. However, it's been a while since I looked at the pricing and we no longer use the solution."
  • "Our organization has paid licensing for three years, which averaged about $4.00 USD per user. We've been satisfied with the licensing. It's quite reasonable."
  • "Its price is fine. Price-wise, it is competitive with any other vendor."
  • "If I'm not mistaken, for three years, for 400 licenses, we paid nearly 15,000 euros. We don't have any additional costs that we have to pay on top of that."
  • "The pricing is good compared to Symantec and McAfee."
  • "The cost seems competitive."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.

Cybereason's Endpoint Detection and Response platform detects in real-time both signature and non-signature-based attacks and accelerates incident investigation and response. Cybereason connects together individual pieces of evidence to form a complete picture of a malicious operation.
