We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
It handles situations that the other threat management tools wouldn't find. It has worked well covering the weaker sides of the other products that we're integrating.Centralized dashboard online which can be used for managing a huge product.Even if an endpoint loses connection to the Internet, I know that endpoint is protected against 99.99% of the threats in the wild today.Specifically for a Windows domain environment, the product can be customized and pushed via GPO or SCCM without issue.Endpoints are protected in real-time without the need of a centralized server.Very easy to deploy. It can be done one by one or deployed by customizing an MSI file for GPO push. The CylancePROTECT agent is very low on CPU usage, so it has virtually no adverse impact on my servers, desktops, or workstations.

The most valuable feature is the virtual patching. The most valuable features are web security, email filtering, and content filtering. It has improved functions by bringing us complete security on our clients' virtual environment. It has a perfect SaaS which integrates with AWS, offering flexibility to deploy quickly and easily in the cloud.Deep Security enables us to bridge the gap between patching windows using the Virtual Patching feature. This allows us to make sure full patching is tested properly in our testing environments before rollout. It provides a comprehensive feature set and a strong security baseline for us with integrations into other security tools. There are compliance issues for legacy applications and after applying OS security patches. The product's HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention System) modules do the job for you automatically, without any downtime.Very user-friendly interface, easy to understand.

Cons
I would like to see a better UI in terms of sifting through more specific data and providing analytics. A little bit more would be nice.Work on the math model. We are catching a lot of false positives, which gets to be a pain at the start of a deployment. The management console needs a little maturity in how it presents data and allows the administrator to drill down or search across systems.

When implementing this solution, sometimes we have challenges with SQL migration. The support for email protection can be improved. It needs better global visibility of the virtual environment.I would like them to add EDR features, moving away from traditional signature-based anti-malware.The default reports provided don't provide much insight.I would rate tech support in the range of six to eight out of 10. Time to provide solution could be improved. It needs to improve its integration with a lot of other products. This should be in the road map because we have a lot of SaaS-based appliances which are not connected with each other. They are still working on the company integration from TippingPoint because this was a recent acquisition from a few years ago. So, a Tipping Point integration with Deep Security, having one single pane of glass dashboard, would provide us a simple use case.

Pricing and Cost Advice
Our licensing cost for the solution is around $4,000 for six months. There are no costs in addition to the standard licensing fees.Shop around for sure and be assured the price you pay will be close to other solutions available, but even at a slight mark-up from the other solutions, you are getting real endpoint protection versus nothing more than a cheap security blanket that might keep you warm at night.Do not get hung up on price. You pay for what you get and expensive will hurt one time, where cheap will hurt forever, especially if you fall victim to a ransom attack, etc.The initial end-point cost may seem a little high (~$55/device/year) but when you look at the total peace of mind that the solution provides, with no reboots for updates, and negligible performance impact, it is well worth it.

Some of our customers complain about the cost of this solution. The cost is approximately six thousand Qatari Riyal ($1650 USD) per user.Purchasing this solution through the AWS Marketplace was secure and quick. AWS has good prices for a good product. The training needs improvement. It is expensive (classroom training), and it is often hard to find answers by yourself using the documentation. The AWS licensing model is scalable and easy to use, but could do with tiered discounts. I am not sure how well this model will scale when we start to use Auto Scaling with AWS resources. We are an original partner with AWS, so a couple of customers chose to directly take it from AWS Marketplace. A couple of customers will want us to take care of the billing. So, it's a mixed type of reaction that we receive from the customer. The price is reasonably good as compared to other products into the market.Purchasing on the AWS Marketplace is like shopping on Amazon Prime.
