This is a superior and reliable backup system that can handle large capacities with little management.
The backup is very secure. The deduplication using EMC is very good. We are able to make systems and handle random cloning. EMC is a very stable solution for making backups.
The product provides good backup and compression services.
The solution's most valuable feature is the integrated deduplication function.
It's very easy to use the domain once it's been set up. The interface is also user-friendly.
The most valuable features are the deduplication and compression and the Data Domain Boost.
We have never had any issues with Data Domain. It has been stable.
The initial setup was straightforward. Deployment takes about two weeks.
It is very capable of scaling and very good for heterogeneous environments.
We have good data backup coverage.
The most valuable feature is that the backup and restoring process is very fast.
Compared to a homemade installation, this appliance is very stable.
We rarely need their help. I would give their technical support an 8.5 out of ten. We are satisfied.
They are a large company with good best practices, and they give good support.
The intelligent policies feature is used in order to protect the VMware infrastructure. One of the things that makes a big difference for our company is the usage of these intelligence policies. The system automatically provides extra protection for any VMware server application or service. From a backup administrator's point of view, this is what we call peace of mind. It reduces the workload and therefore reduces resources needed from the company.
The most valuable feature of this solution is that it can be used in many different kinds of systems.
The product lacks some security features that would make it more stand-alone and integrated.
They should reduce the CPC cost to customers. The product is becoming very expensive.
The licensing model was the biggest concern for our company, but the poor support after the initial implementation is of equal concern.
The pricing could be better, but it's still not too expensive.
The firmware upgrades could be simplified. I'm in the process of struggling to upgrade right now.
We have had deduplication and replication issues. When we used another backup software we noticed that it didn't have the same issues.
We are not able to deal directly with the OEM we have to go to their partners in Nigeria.
The pricing model needs to be improved.
I would like to see support for databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
This solution has to have better integration with the cloud, as well as with other solutions such as Business Intelligence products.
We had some problems with the backup of the physical server.
The scalability isn't great. Every time you want to add storage, you can't just add a little bit, you need to add a lot.
They need to make the licensing more clear. They should give all of the licensing details for the portals and be more clear. I have accidentally purchased the incorrect license because it's not clear.
I would like to see a product that requires less expertise to manage it.
The only drawback for NetBackup, and of course for Veritas, is that they have stuck to the same environment and to the same UI - User Interface. This needs to be improved in future releases. It needs to be more dynamic.
Technical support for this solution needs to be improved.
