Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"Continuous replication with lower RTO and RPO is the most innovative feature. Its tight integration with VMware for VMware VMs is also valuable.""The most valuable features are the data center recovery administration and the time of recovery.""The installation is straightforward if the version you have is compatible with your infrastructure.""The solution is quite stable. We haven't experienced any kind of bug or glitch. We haven't experienced crashes.""The most valuable feature is that it is journal-based and you don't have to replicate a lot of data.""It is a point-in-time restore, which is quite handy."

"I'm satisfied with tech support, because the solution is so stable that I haven't had the need to engage any of the engineers yet.""The backup and replication capabilities are quite good.""The initial setup was very easy.""I have been in contact with technical support and they are very good.""The solution offers the normal benefits of a virtual machine versus a physical, actual machine. It doesn't take up space, for example.""I think that the scalability is very good. We can't compare it.""In terms of most valuable features, we are mostly using the Cloud Connect feature. It is flexible because you can use it on-prem and on cloud.""It is a powerful software for communicating with the storage and for redundancy."

Cons
"In the next release of this software, I would like to see options that help to decrease the bandwidth required, such as compressing the data.""It can have better integration. It would be good if, in addition to VMware VM, it can also support other hypervisors. I also want to see support for Oracle databases. As of now, it supports only SQL and Exchange. It would be good to also support other databases.""I would like to see integration with EMC NetWorker in the next release.""The solution could improve by being more easier to use. However, once you have used it for a while it becomes easier. Additionally, there could be better support and compatibility with management by having a command-line interface. This would be beneficial for the customers.""The solution is not easy to use. It's actually quite hard. If it could be simplified it might be better for the end user.""I would like to have the HTML 5 interface working because it is currently not functioning with the VMware environment."

"They fixed everything that I was hoping for. It is pretty good. There were a few things in 9.x that I was wishing for, and they came true in version 10. We were looking for retention without having to make a copy job. We're getting ready to migrate m365 to the cloud. I haven't dived into it to make sure, but I wish the m365 backup would integrate into the current console so that we don't have to use two different consoles.""Multithreading of health check process: This can take too much time to process on large jobs and/or large VMs.""It's a great product, but only if you have everything virtualized.""Restoration takes about two to four hours with Veeam. Zerto can restore in about 10 seconds. That's the restoration speed I'm looking for now that we're dealing with ransomware.""Although the solution offers documentation, it has it only in English, which doesn't help us much in Belarus.""Technical support can be improved.""It's hard to answer because managing cloud storage in our version could be better, but now that they have improved it in the recent version, I cannot say it's a better point because I know it should be already fixed.""The initial setup was not straightforward at all."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"There is a license required for this solution and the pricing depends on how many virtual machines you have.""This is not a very cheap solution and compared to others, it is expensive.""Pricing-wise, it is pretty much fair for any customer who only has a VMware environment. Licensing is based on the number of VMs that you want to protect at any given point in time. Licensing is not based on size.""This is an expensive product."

"We have increased our scalability while being able to free up senior resources from recovery activities. I estimate our overall savings to about $20,000 per year.""If you tell Veeam that you're competing with, for example, NetBackup or Backup Exec, or Dell or Micro Focus then they may lower the price. They are very competitive.""We pay yearly licensing fees for Veeam in our data centers where we're using disaster recovery and replication between our many solutions, especially cloud solutions. From the beginning, we've done our licensing from a separate channel through our data center team in Seattle.""Veeam is more reasonably priced than some competing products.""The price is quite fair.""It's the market price. It isn't expensive, nor is it cheap.""It's expensive and costs about 4000 a year.""I don't know what the costs are for sure, but I think that it's on a yearly basis."
