Cons
We've only been using the solution for half a year. We haven't run into any issues, but maybe over time, that may change. It's too soon to tell. Offhand, there aren't any features that are lacking.I would like to see better scalability and more features on these switches in the future. It would be great to have modules that integrate with SDN solutions such as Cisco ACI, Arista SDN, Huawei Agile, and IBM.Because of the stackings you lose some boards and switches.More stable firmware releases would be an improvement because we have had them randomly power on and off.Scalability, especially with the power connect series is something that you have to take into account before starting the project because any changes to an ongoing project can be difficult.

These switches can be made more stable and robust.I would like to see some kind of packet tracer where people can study how the switch is operating. The solution should offer different gigabit interfaces. Right now, they have ten gigabits. However, for our needs, we only need one gigabit. We don't need 24 or 48 ports. We only need eight to ten. HPE should introduce into their portfolio some smaller and more compact options. The dashboards could be improved to be more interesting.I would like to see integration with HPE OneView.Procurve would work better if it had more options like the web environment. If you make a change and you disconnect yourself from the switch, you will create an issue. We do occasionally have issues with the solution and need to change out the switches sometimes. This can be due to the fan, but, in most cases, it's because the power supply was broken.
