Pros
"Data being available anytime is a life changer.""The most valuable aspect is the product is easy to manage, with a good dashboard. We can easily configure it on the front end and back end.""The product is efficient in handling large volumes of data.""It's really easy to install.""Delphix interfaces are simple to use and very user friendly.""Delphix can do data masking in any format. Not many solutions can do that.""The performance offered by the product, its price, and its ability to handle structured and unstructured data were good when compared to the other products in the market.""It is a stable solution."

"The main features of this solution are deduplication, compression, ease of use, simplistic user interface, and compatibility with all the backup service systems.""I like that it's enterprise-capable. It can handle multiple operating systems. It can handle multiple database types. It can handle a lot of different backup use cases. It's flexible.""There's a very nice central console for the administration of all of the instances.""The tool's information transfer and patching up is easy. The solution offers protection from ransomware which is also a valuable feature.""I think the support is fine. We haven't had issues with it.""Deduplication is the most valuable feature as it reduces the backup time and provides backup of a single copy of data""Veritas NetBackup is a reliable, easy-to-use, and easy-to-deploy solution.""If you are running on a legacy tape environment NetBackup is best."

Cons
"Delphix could be improved with better usability and an agentless option.""As a commercial model, it's very good. However, maybe it would be nice for Delphix to integrate with some other platforms.""The solution's price needs improvement.""GUI could be improved.""Delphix needs better partnerships from a customer perspective. It's how they sell it, not what they're selling.""Delphix is quite expensive.""Delphix is a strong solution for virtualization, but it's not strong enough for creating data, so we have to use another solution for creating new data.""When it comes to unstructured and structured data, if Delphix can comply with the requirements for most of the structured data, it would be good, especially if it can include the data scanning part."

More Delphix Cons →

"Technical support is somewhat slow and is in need of improvement.""The HTML interface is a web application that does not offer all the features.""It would be extremely helpful if the solution offered near-zero recovery time for SQL.""Veritas could simplify the firmware recovery in terms of the deployed. The process shouldn't be dependent on the agents. It should be completely agentless.""The solution could improve by having a feature to backup iSeries workloads.""We have issues reaching them during some hours, and we need to escalate through several levels to get a resolution. Sometimes tickets stay open for days.""There have been issues with performance and some features.""We faced so many backup configuration issues. And from the Veritas side, they couldn't fix that issue. So we started from scratch, purchased everything, and then we configured everything. Therefore, the support could be better."

    Reviews from Real Users

Mahdi B., Solution Architect and IT Consultant at Merdasco - Rayan Merdas Data Processing, says, “Veritas integrates well with the cloud, all databases, all operating systems, all hardware, and all software. Veritas also has solid malware and ransomware protection features. From time to time, we face a new kind of attack, and Veritas has always proven to be the best protection solution for some of my customers. Our customers who have faced ransomware attacks were able to recover their data in less than one day without any stress. Veritas is ransomware resilient and because of its implementation, it is not dependent on the operating system to work. Most of the functions of the Veritas software are isolated from the operating system and it's not dependent on the operating systems involved. This is very important. When some of our operating systems are infected by a virus, Veritas still works perfectly and protects our data. This feature is very well implemented in Veritas NetBackup.”

A PeerSpot user who is a General Manager at a comms service provider relates, “Veritas enterprise has many agents who perform the backup, whether it is a consistent backup or recorded backup. The solution has everything from the snapshot to the multiple database agents.”

Mir-Ali, Infrastructure Manager - Oracle SCM at a financial services firm, shares, “It covers all kinds of different architectures. Plus, it's very user-friendly and it is very reliable. Reliability is the most important thing because once the backup is done, if it is successful, then we're sure that it was successful and we will be able to restore it.”
