We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Some of the features that are highly appreciated are its robust data loss prevention capabilities, flexible deployment options, and the ability to monitor data transfer across multiple vectors.""In Digital Guardian, they have the cloud correlation servers that give you visibility work like EBR and the correlation server works very well for security analysis.""There is a built-in endpoint detection response that helps save money.""I like the solution's adaptive inspection and container inspection.""It has the added advantage of offering forensic analysis.""The technical support is really terrific.""The feature we call desktop recording is the most valuable aspect of the solution. Not only can we collect data from the user's usage, but we also capture his screenshots when he is trying to steal the data.""The most valuable feature of Digital Guardian is its reputation. They have scored high on the Gartner Magic Quadrant."

"FortiSandbox analyzes the behavior of processes in a sandbox environment, which is useful for threat hunting. The solution has an excellent standard configuration, and you can prioritize the types of files of VMs you want to analyze. It also integrates seamlessly with other Fortinet solutions, like FortiGate, FortiMail, and FortiEMS.""The GUI makes administration tasks straightforward.""The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiSandbox are customization, ICAP protocol, and integration with other vendors. Additionally, the security work very well.""The solution has the highest stability...The solution's setup is not complex as they are already included in Fortinet.""Integration is one of the solution's most valuable aspects. You can integrate even third-party solutions so that they can send the information or files they quarantine through the FortiSandbox""The scanner office document as well as PDF are useful. The most valuable thing is that you can emulate different operating systems without having the danger of getting something infected. It emulates several operating systems, and as a result, you either get the file or you don't get the file.""What I find most valuable, is that it is easy to use.""The most valuable features for me when it comes to Fortinet FortiSandbox are the integrity of the Sandbox and the power of the analyzing tool of the solution."

Cons
"I would like to see the workflow, to get all the rules and policies set up, be less complicated.""There are a lot of issues with the current version of the Endpoint agent. It's not stable, it's resource-consuming, and there are some performance issues. If they could improve the stability of the agent it would be great.""If the client uses Windows 10 or 11 and Microsoft updates the operating system's version, Digital Guardian must update their product to match compatibility.""Technical support could be better.""Digital Guardian is an excellent solution but our experience with the partner has been the most horrible experience we have ever had with any partner.""When considering potential areas for improvement, it may be beneficial for Digital Guardian to optimize its processes and reduce the computational demands on the system, particularly with regard to high CPU usage. Although Digital Guardian offers numerous benefits, it can consume a substantial amount of RAM and CPU power.""Some features on Mac and Linux are not complete currently. For example, some device control features haven't been transferred over to the other systems. If they could have their Windows features also available on Mac and Linux, that would be perfect. Some of our customers have a Mac environment for their RD environment. Having the solution fully capable of handling everything in a Mac environment is crucial.""The initial setup is a bit more complex than other solutions."

More Digital Guardian Cons →

"I would like to have machine learning added to the solution in a future release.""The use cases in Fortinet FortiSandbox are not good. It is difficult to upload a custom VM for Fortinet FortiSandbox. The integration of Fortinet FortiSandbox with other Fortinet or FortiGate firewalls is not good. VMs are already installed in the hardware and are working fine, but we tried to approve the custom VM many times but did not succeed.""For the MSSPs, it would be great if the product could display all the threat chains on a dashboard since it is an area where the tool is currently lacking.""At least once a week we have a false alarm. This needs to be adjusted so that we get fewer of these occurrences.""The response time from technical support should be improved.""It would be better if it had support for Mac and Linux.""The integration is limited. The solution needs to offer better integration with multiple vendors.""If you were to compare prices between vendors and manufacturers, you would see that the lowest equipment in the Sandbox line is quite expensive for a new customer."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Digital Guardian has both, subscription and perpetual licenses, but I think when everything (all technologies) will go to the cloud they will only offer subscriptions."
  • "If I compare Digital Guardian with Symantec, the license cost is lower, but McAfee can be cheaper than Digital Guardian. It depends on how many licenses you plan to buy and how big the project is. The cost is not so high as Symantec, but not as cheap as McAfee. They can easily sell the solution for price."

  • "The cost was around $300,000."
  • "The price of Digital Guardian is on the higher end compared to other vendors."
  • "I rate the solution's pricing an eight out of ten because Digital Guardian is expensive."
