We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution was relatively easy to deploy.""The most valuable feature is the analysis, because of the beta structure.""This is stable and scalable.""Forensics is a valuable feature of Fortinet FortiEDR.""Fortinet FortiEDR's scalability is quite good, and you can add licenses to the solution.""Fortinet is very user-friendly for customers.""The product's initial setup phase is very easy.""NGAV and EDR features are outstanding."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Pros →

"There is a built-in endpoint detection response that helps save money.""We have been able to monitor access to files from each of our workstations.""It has the added advantage of offering forensic analysis.""In Digital Guardian, they have the cloud correlation servers that give you visibility work like EBR and the correlation server works very well for security analysis.""It can scale from 100 to 10,000. There's no problem with the scalability.""The feature we call desktop recording is the most valuable aspect of the solution. Not only can we collect data from the user's usage, but we also capture his screenshots when he is trying to steal the data.""I like the solution's adaptive inspection and container inspection.""It has been scalable."

More Digital Guardian Pros →

"The security is good.""It is mostly used for malware detection and antivirus purposes.""The solution is scalable.""The most valuable features of the solution are that it is easy to use and has good support.""The solution does all that we expect it to do.""There are times when Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response tags an executable as malicious when it is trying to get executed on the machine. In this case, it prevents the execution and it gives you a process view of things where you can look into what has happened and whether it is a genuine process trying to access some system activities, or it's a malicious one. Depending upon the process, it gives you a clear identification, and we can do the containment from the interface itself and isolate the machine from the network. The process review on network isolation is good.""Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response is stable.""The Detection vulnerability is very effective."

Cons
"Once, we had an event that was locked and blocked, but information about it came to us two or three days later.""The security should be strong for the cloud. Some applications are on-prem and some are on the cloud. Fortinet should also have strong security for the cloud. There should be more security for the cloud.""The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection.""There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors.""The support needs improvement.""To improve Fortinet, we need to see more features and technology areas at the endpoint level introduced.""Cannot be used on mobile devices with a secure connection.""Everything with Fortinet having to do with their cloud services. They need to invest more in their internal infrastructure that they are running in the cloud. One of the things I find with their cloud environment compared to others' is that they go cheap on the equipment. So it causes some performance degradation."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"If the client uses Windows 10 or 11 and Microsoft updates the operating system's version, Digital Guardian must update their product to match compatibility.""Technical support could be better.""When considering potential areas for improvement, it may be beneficial for Digital Guardian to optimize its processes and reduce the computational demands on the system, particularly with regard to high CPU usage. Although Digital Guardian offers numerous benefits, it can consume a substantial amount of RAM and CPU power.""Digital Guardian is an excellent solution but our experience with the partner has been the most horrible experience we have ever had with any partner.""Some features on Mac and Linux are not complete currently. For example, some device control features haven't been transferred over to the other systems. If they could have their Windows features also available on Mac and Linux, that would be perfect. Some of our customers have a Mac environment for their RD environment. Having the solution fully capable of handling everything in a Mac environment is crucial.""The room for improvement with Digital Guardian is that it will be better with the Linux agent because it is the only DLP solution for Linux workstations. It still needs to upgrade the agents to the latest version for the Linux kernel.""There are a lot of issues with the current version of the Endpoint agent. It's not stable, it's resource-consuming, and there are some performance issues. If they could improve the stability of the agent it would be great.""I would like to see the workflow, to get all the rules and policies set up, be less complicated."

More Digital Guardian Cons →

"It would be good if it can anticipate zero-day attacks. I don't know how it can be done and if it is even a feature of this product.""It should be easier to deploy Symantec's client for end-users.""Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response could improve the reporting. It is very difficult to create reports from the user interface.""In the future, it would be nice to have playbooks in the tool, to allow for some of the common activities to be automated. For example, some of the scannings of the malware can be too manual for a specific device. Additionally, a vulnerability manager would be beneficial.""Reporting is a major issue, as it is not user friendly.""The interface has many issues.""The interface is very complicated.""The network forensics feature could be improved."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.
