"To generate these same tabular formatted reports with a code-only solution would have taken a lot longer to implement than the Docmosis template-based approach. Docmosis templates were easier to design as we were able to use Microsoft Word to create them. The templates made it easy to make any changes to reports and provided flexibility in our design approach."
"Since our initial development, this feature has required very little maintenance. And when changes are requested, it is rather easy to change a Word document template and new staff can be quickly trained to modify a report."
"The ability to embed, and dynamically repeat, templates within each other is a very simple yet extremely powerful tool."
"Globally, the ability to create document templates in several formats by using a rich syntax is simple and clear to understand."
"There is flexibility in laying out tables that is akin to UI front-end design."
"A new report’s template creation is very often manipulation of a user’s layout of a report. A report can be ready in a day or less, once stored procedures are created as per sections in the report."
"The strength of this solution lies in its connectors and the accessibility of an open API. The presence of an open API allows users to create custom connectors if necessary, provided there is access to the source API documentation. Additionally, the platform features a straightforward yet highly effective forms tool. This tool not only seamlessly integrates with the workflow functionality but also facilitates the transmission of information to the document generation tool. This comprehensive integration is particularly noteworthy when compared to alternatives such as Oracle, which tends to rely on more complex and separate logic for similar functionalities. A key strength of Nintex lies in its user-centric approach to help documentation. The materials are designed to be easily understood, avoiding complex terminology. In cases where technical terms are used, they are linked to articles for further clarification. This contrasts with platforms like Microsoft and Oracle, which may employ technical jargon without clear explanations. Nintex further supports its users through a robust online community, fostering collaboration and shared insights. Additionally, Nintex University offers online training across all applications, following a role-based structure. Unlike some other platforms, Nintex's training is thoughtfully broken down into shorter courses, focused on specific roles. This approach ensures that users can efficiently access the information they need without navigating through extensive and potentially irrelevant content, as may be the case with Oracle's training structure."
"The workflow engine of K2 is its main strength. Its workflow engine is probably one of the best, and that's the reason why Nintex bought K2. It can clearly handle any complex process or scenario. K2 is almost low-code. It is a no-code or low-code solution. You don't have to read a whole lot of code. It is pretty much GUI based. Their support is also excellent. The biggest advantage of K2 is SmartObjects, which allow you to separate the data from the application. It is a standalone application that allows you to build a data source from different places, which a lot of other applications also do. It is called SmartObjects technology, which is pretty powerful. If I have data from different applications, such as JD and ServiceNow, I can just create a SmartObject based on a data source and use it. I have some forms that have six, seven, or eight applications in a single form with data from different places."
"It's easy to learn. However, there is very little content available for the Nintex also, but they are providing their own documentation and all. So, it's easy to learn also."
"Easily maintained and customization is quite simple."
"It is very easy to use."
"It provides data accuracy with fewer failures."
"Our solutions using Nintex has been most successful in automating HR processes because it allows you to easily and rapidly build solutions that conform to the unique business processes for each entity."
"The Vizio-style designer that runs in the browser is, to me, by far the most valuable feature of the solution. It means that the customer doesn’t have to install any client tools to create powerful workflows."
"The challenge in usage when we developed the reports four years ago was the limited logic that can be applied to manipulate and display data. That functionality was largely transferred over to the database layer in creating the data output that was to be displayed."
"It would be great to have improved diagnostic and debugging tools. When report templates are complex, sometimes any minor modification needs to be thoroughly tested to ensure that it does not disrupt a previously designed template."
"We are facing new challenges such as internationalization. The next big challenge will be to offer even more date formats and numbers that cover the majority of countries. It will be to also think about features, such as number to text conversion, or the reverse which is currently only available in English but is in great demand by our international customers."
"Version control and restricted access to some users for template editing could be a useful addition."
"The interface could be better and more language support is needed in the development environment or in the solutions platform in general."
"Currently, it's taking quite some time to deploy a package, it needs improvement"
"K2 is a workflow solution, and there is no RPA solution with K2. This is where K2 lacks a little bit. It is just a heavy workflow solution. It doesn't have a supplemental product like RPA. If you want to use RPA, you have to use Blue Prism, UIPath, or something else. If you use Nintex, it has an RPA solution. It is a form-based application, and they are doing everything electronically. The initial investment in K2 is heavy because it is a BPM software. It does not have a low cost because they charge you the same for one workflow or 100 workflows."
"I would also like to see the BPM features from Pega implemented, that have to do with the implementation of AI, and the robotics."
"The security features for this solution need to be improved."
"Hawkeye is emerging as a reporting solution, but as a V1 product it’s not very useful yet."
"We would like to design parallel workflows and long-running workflows, along with new features for connecting to cloud-based systems."
"The cost of the solution is high and has room for improvement."
