Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The initial setup is extremely easy.""The solution is very fast and simple. If I want to share a file I can put it on the cloud or on-premise. It's user-friendly.""I like the synchronization, and the integration with Microsoft Office is good.""It is definitely stable. The main advantage of Dropbox is that you can see the files, and you can easily share them with all the team members. They can be accessed by whoever you give access to, and it is all secure. Dropbox is a seamless product. It provides you the privacy that you're looking for. Privacy is a major factor for my company, and Dropbox provides you that.""Dropbox allows me to organize files well. I can name files in such a way as to lead students to the right destination.""One of the advantages of Dropbox is that you can share files with people who are external to your organization without any additional costs. It is also easy to use, stable, and trustworthy.""I don't need to carry my laptop while traveling. I just synchronize whatever I've been doing to Dropbox. After the document is synchronized, I can leave my laptop and use Dropbox wherever I am. I can also easily share a document with my colleagues, no matter how big it is. I can allow them to edit, and the editing will be instant. I can see whatever changes they've made to the document. It doesn't delete a document automatically. If I make a mistake and delete a file, it doesn't automatically delete the file. It gives you the warning to say you're deleting a file. In terms of security, I haven't had any challenges with Dropbox where they tell you that your data is compromised.""The initial setup was very easy."

"This is a unified business package that helps people be productive in working environments.""The most valuable feature is Microsoft Teams.""What was most valuable for me was how simple this solution is to start using.""The Power BI environment and the integration between Power BI and SQL are the solution's most valuable features. The integration between products is great.""The flexibility of having a subscription for the Office software, rather than having any upfront costs is the best part of this solution.""The most valuable feature for us is Microsoft Teams.""It has file storage, file sharing, a provisioning box, and a SharePoint profile for each user.""The two biggest value adds of the solution are having the ability to outsource the email and not having to manage the email server. It's just seamless. Having the most current versions all around and having things updating frequently by themselves ensures that everybody's got access to the same software."

Cons
"The mobile aspect of the solution needs improvement. For instance, if I want to use a file from Dropbox on my phone, I sometimes struggle to download images off of Dropbox. The solution lacks accessibility on different devices.""The pricing could be better and/or more clear. Right now, they have a strange way of splitting pricing. It's a bit complicated and not clear for users.""The problem with the storage is that you are only able to synchronize the information within the amount of storage that you have. It doesn't matter if you are accessing from a team member who has more storage, the limitations are with your storage.""We are moving to Microsoft Teams. Instead of Dropbox, we will be using Microsoft Teams that has the advantage of saving the versions. It supports file versioning so that you can always go back to the previous version if you want to. If somebody has made a change in one of the files and you don't know what changes have been made, you can always go back to the previous version. This feature led us to migrate to Microsoft Teams. With Dropbox, there is no option for simultaneous work. This feature is there in Google Files. In Microsoft Teams, you can invite team members to collaborate. That is the reason why I prefer Microsoft Teams over Dropbox. It should also have more integration with other solutions.""The search could be made more intuitive.""File version control can be improved. It generates a lot of conflicts when people are working on the same file. Its integration with other solutions can be improved in terms of user experience. Integration is there, and it has connectors for Excel, Word, and other solutions, but it is not very friendly. There should be a better user experience.""The arrangement of documents can be simplified. Personally, I am used to it, but for a new user, it might be a little confusing. It can maybe have a feature to allow people to collaborate or work on the same document at the same time. I'm just using it to load and access information, and I haven't faced many challenges. However, I have seen that the whole system or laptop slows down a bit when I am synchronizing files to Dropbox. I don't know if it is because of my system. It might be good if they can enhance the synchronization process so that we can specify that synchronization should be done after 30 minutes. In addition, synchronization should only be done for the documents that have been uploaded.""For us, storage is an issue. The free version is too small in terms of the amount of storage on offer."

More Dropbox Cons »

"Flow and Form components can be improved individually, but it would be nice to see the product take the next step and operate as a unit rather than separate modules.""There are loads of holes in security and I'd like to see better integration with security products.""The admin panels have too few samples.""The solution's licensing framework needs improvement.""There are various things that you need to use PowerShell to do. That would be good. You could do them through the management portal, rather than through PowerShell. That's the biggest improvement I would like to see.""The pricing for this solution could be improved.""Updates to the SQL server with better features are needed to compete with Oracle Database.""The ability to manage the updates a little better would be helpful. Sometimes end-users will get a prompt in the middle of the day that they have to update. When there's a new update, then their system automatically starts to reboot, which can be ill-timed. Having a little more control over that would probably be welcome. Notices in regards to updates and being able to manage the timing around them or to be able to do it at off-times would be helpful."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"Its price is quite cheap. It is quite competitive. You just need to pay for the license. There are no additional costs.""You pay as you go, which is a good thing. There is a monthly fee, and you can also pay annually. This flexibility makes the subscription easier and affordable for some of us. I prefer yearly pricing, which is also slightly cheaper than monthly pricing.""It has some free features, but for some of the features, you need to pay. If you need more storage, then you need to pay. Its licensing probably is on a monthly basis.""I am on a monthly subscription for the solution and I am somewhat satisfied with the pricing. However, the price could a bit better.""There is a subscription-based pricing model and I pay monthly.""We pay a monthly subscription fee.""The solution is purchased on a subscription basis, and there are purchasing options. If you purchase annually there is a discount.""A basic version of Dropbox is available for free with a paid subscription from Microsoft."

More Dropbox Pricing and Cost Advice »

"Depending on which plan you purchase, there are a plethora of applications available to you.""Compared to buying a license, it is much cheaper and a good buy.""We do monthly billing, however, I'm not sure what the exact costs are. We may pay around $1,000/month. We started using the Microsoft Teams and we've started doing the conference call feature, so that's another $4 an account and we have a few accounts using that right now.""USD $1,250 annually for the standard package.""Pricing can vary a lot due to fluctuations in exchange rates and that is not favorable for planning.""Now you can select different licenses, for example, if somebody doesn't need all of the features, it would cost $8 USD per month and if they didn't need the email application then it would cost $6 USD per month.""It works out to be $12.50 per user per month.""Microsoft 365 Business will be good to have if you have a large organization where you have more than 3000 employees. Other cheaper solutions, like Gmail, are easily available in the market."
