We performed a comparison between Druva inSync and IBM Spectrum Protect based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out in this report how the two SaaS Backup solutions compare in terms of features, pricing, service and support, easy of deployment, and ROI."One of the most valuable features is it is available on the cloud, so I do not need to make a firewall. Second, the backup speed is outstanding. The third thing is that the section policy is very good and gives you a lot of flexibility and granularity regarding what you need to back up."
"All the data is well encrypted. In addition, the data is split into pieces so that if an endpoint is attacked or compromised with any kind of ransomware, the compromised machine can be relocated or restored. All the data that was previously backed up can be restored from the cloud. It has a lot of security features. Druva currently offers only the cloud version on AWS. Being a cloud solution, Druva goes by a lot of security compliances and provides a security portfolio. People are very skeptical of the data security in cloud solutions, and Druva has given consideration to that. It has some good geo-location features. If a machine is lost, when the machine is switched on and connected to the internet, that machine can be geo-located and tracked. It also has got the geo-wipeout feature. If someone tries to take out the data from a lost machine, they won't be able to do that. The moment an IT admin comes to know that the machine is no longer with a user, he or she can auto-run the geo-wipeout feature so that the data cannot be read by any third party. Duality replication is a unique thing about this solution. Everybody's data is not backed up if the data is common. Similar data is not backed up from other machines. The data backup also happens very smoothly. The bandwidth choking is very less. When the data is getting backed up, the users do not even get to know. There is no impact even when the users are not using high-speed bandwidth."
"The recovery aspect of the solution is its most valuable feature."
"If you are looking for a backup solution, go with Druva because it's quite simple."
"We get control over authentication policies and create an agentless backup by generating a token for that."
"Druva inSync is very easy to use."
"The main benefit of this solution is that it automatically scans the files for ransomware after the backup is complete."
"You don't need a certified administrator to manage this product."
"It covers all the different operating systems. If you need backup, it can pretty much do everything."
"Replication processes with container storage pools allow reduction of storage space and network bandwidth, using deduplication and compression."
"The solution is mostly stable."
"The licensing isn't very clear. They should work to simply or clarify the cost structure."
"The product is very stable."
"It helps our customers protect their data, especially with stuff like ransomware, compliance, and regulatory requirements."
"One way they have improved our organization is through the stability of the solution and the availability of the product."
"The ability to use S3 Data Store as a repository."
"This solution would benefit from the inclusion of an on-premise backup feature, as currently, they are offering everything in the cloud."
"The product needs to improve its support."
"The solution takes a lot of time during restoration."
"I would like to see security improved in the next release."
"The user quota is an area that needs to be improved."
"Druva inSync is very high in price. A general customer cannot afford this solution. Even if the product is good, people cannot afford such a high cost just for taking the backup. This is a recurring investment, and the customers have to pay for it every year. Druva is also yet to develop the channel and the channel or partner commitment."
"The user quota is an area that needs to be improved."
"The backup time is very poor. The backup runs continuously. It goes on from morning till night. The system performance also becomes very poor when Druva inSync is running."
"They need to do a better job on Windows, because if you are running Windows, the scalability is more limited than AIX and Linux."
"I would like to see monitoring within the platform: monitoring for storage pools and monitoring for the server's health (e.g., CPU and memory)."
"The solution must protect against ransomware attacks better."
"It seems like they are a little behind on the integration to Azure Cloud as well as Amazon."
"Technical support could be improved."
"There could be various client systems and process integration included in the product."
"I am not really impressed with the Level 1 support, but once I get past that and go to Level 2, then we will usually get some type of resolution."
"It needs BMR (bare machine recovery) solutions for both Windows and Linux systems."
