We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"If you are looking for a backup solution, go with Druva because it's quite simple.""Druva inSync is very easy to use.""The main benefit of this solution is that it automatically scans the files for ransomware after the backup is complete.""Our customers do not need to purchase third party storage or a separate server for data backup.""The recovery aspect of the solution is its most valuable feature.""It is simple to implement and use. It's very flexible.""We get control over authentication policies and create an agentless backup by generating a token for that.""It has a straightforward installation."

"We were able to witness the benefits of using the solution within weeks of using it.""AIR and duplication, overall management and troubleshooting.""The backup and restoration are 100 percent guaranteed.""There's a very nice central console for the administration of all of the instances.""We were evaluating other products and getting confused between Commvault and Veritas NetBackup. The one reason that we started with Veritas NetBackup is the pricing of the license. There's no other reason from a technical perspective or even operation or capability of the two software. The main reason we chose Veritas NetBackup was that in our use case it is more cost-effective.""I like NetBackup's accelerator feature. You can take a full backup with incremental speed and integrate it with block tracking.""The most valuable feature is its stability.""Specific features that I could not do without are SLPs for replication and duplication control and AIR which makes DR easy."

Cons
"This solution would benefit from the inclusion of an on-premise backup feature, as currently, they are offering everything in the cloud.""It would be good if bare metal backups were possible.""The user quota is an area that needs to be improved.""The support of other cloud services needs to be improved. It has very good cloud support for AWS but not with others.""If I could have an accelerator or something to back up the solution on the cloud, that would be helpful. Also, it would be helpful if the accelerator could give me a buffer of a couple of days for any kind of immediate recovery on an offsite.""The product needs to improve its support.""The one area that needs to improve is the pricing.""The user quota is an area that needs to be improved."

More Druva inSync Cons →

"There have been issues with performance and some features.""Some of the hardware is out of support.""The solution must provide a different way to schedule backups.""What needs to be improved in Veritas NetBackup is its interface, e.g. they should make it more user friendly. Scalability for this product could still be improved, particularly its hardware appliance scalability.""The reporting of the backups could be better.""Its integration with Nutanix and technical support can be improved.""I do not really like NetBackup as it is coming from a mix of other software packages.""The most common problem is the backup failures over the weekend. We have to troubleshoot and sometimes do restores and then we have trouble doing some of the restores."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Once you decide to go with this product the cost can be worked out with the vendor."
  • "The price is quite good, It's approximately $4000.00 per user for one year."
  • "It's approximately $4000.00 per user for one year."
  • "It is an expensive product for the middle class or SMB customers in India. A lot of top-level big companies also cannot afford this solution. During the license period, one can download the entire data from the cloud without paying any additional cost. This way the data can be easily recreated from the stored data when a machine is lost or the data is compromised."
  • "Out of all the solutions we evaluated, Druva inSync was the most affordable."
  • "The pricing of Druva inSync is very high as compared to other cloud backup solutions."
  • "The pricing is thirty-five dollars per year or three dollars per month per user."
  • "The product is fairly priced, I would rate its pricing five out of ten."

  • "Licensing was very expensive and did not scale well if needed to move between license models."
  • "Smaller virtualized environments will want to stick to a traditional licensing model if possible. It will likely be cheaper, but it is a pain to manage all the individual licenses for each client."
  • "So far I can only say that the license structure could be looked at to be aligned as either capacity-based or traditional."
  • "If you have a complex environment with dozens of different servers and apps, I recommend you look for TB licensing."
  • "The software and license are very expensive."
  • "Pricing is pretty costly as compared to the other products but worth investing for the long term and high ROI."
  • "Acceptable if you need to implement it for larger environments, e.g. over 1000 clients. For smaller setups it might be too expensive."
  • "The licensing model is cost-prohibitive as you scale out."

    Reviews from Real Users

Mahdi B., Solution Architect and IT Consultant at Merdasco - Rayan Merdas Data Processing, says, “Veritas integrates well with the cloud, all databases, all operating systems, all hardware, and all software. Veritas also has solid malware and ransomware protection features. From time to time, we face a new kind of attack, and Veritas has always proven to be the best protection solution for some of my customers. Our customers who have faced ransomware attacks were able to recover their data in less than one day without any stress. Veritas is ransomware resilient and because of its implementation, it is not dependent on the operating system to work. Most of the functions of the Veritas software are isolated from the operating system and it's not dependent on the operating systems involved. This is very important. When some of our operating systems are infected by a virus, Veritas still works perfectly and protects our data. This feature is very well implemented in Veritas NetBackup.”

A PeerSpot user who is a General Manager at a comms service provider relates, “Veritas enterprise has many agents who perform the backup, whether it is a consistent backup or recorded backup. The solution has everything from the snapshot to the multiple database agents.”

Mir-Ali, Infrastructure Manager - Oracle SCM at a financial services firm, shares, “It covers all kinds of different architectures. Plus, it's very user-friendly and it is very reliable. Reliability is the most important thing because once the backup is done, if it is successful, then we're sure that it was successful and we will be able to restore it.”
