Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"It has a straightforward installation.""Druva inSync is very easy to use.""If you are looking for a backup solution, go with Druva because it's quite simple.""It's incredibly fast.""The tool has good features. The backup is also accurate.""The main benefit of this solution is that it automatically scans the files for ransomware after the backup is complete.""We get control over authentication policies and create an agentless backup by generating a token for that.""One of the most valuable features is it is available on the cloud, so I do not need to make a firewall. Second, the backup speed is outstanding. The third thing is that the section policy is very good and gives you a lot of flexibility and granularity regarding what you need to back up."

"Backup and application continuity are most valuable.""Oracle Data Guard has a nice feature called the DataGuard snapshot to open the solution in the read-write mode and make some changes to the database.""The most valuable feature is the flashback standby, which allows us to test without scrapping the database.""You can see how the logs are applied, check the apply time, and how far behind the standby is at any given time.""The most valuable features are the backup and restore. With this in place along with the clustering, the database is safe from hacking, hardware failure, power failures, and system crashes.""If you have a problem with your primary site and can't access your primary database, you can continue working with the database that you have as standby on the other site, by changing its role to primary.""The solution is really very stable. One good thing about it, compared to other products, is that you can just run it and forget about it. Unless you come across some interruptions in the network, it works like a charm.""The most valuable feature is the application or promotional code used in the production protocol to transfer data to the secondary database, situated on the DR site."

Cons
"The product needs to improve its support.""Druva inSync is very high in price. A general customer cannot afford this solution. Even if the product is good, people cannot afford such a high cost just for taking the backup. This is a recurring investment, and the customers have to pay for it every year. Druva is also yet to develop the channel and the channel or partner commitment.""The solution takes a lot of time during restoration.""The support of other cloud services needs to be improved. It has very good cloud support for AWS but not with others.""I would like to see security improved in the next release.""If I could have an accelerator or something to back up the solution on the cloud, that would be helpful. Also, it would be helpful if the accelerator could give me a buffer of a couple of days for any kind of immediate recovery on an offsite.""This solution would benefit from the inclusion of an on-premise backup feature, as currently, they are offering everything in the cloud.""The one area that needs to improve is the pricing."

More Druva inSync Cons →

"The implementation is complex for anyone who's jumping into it without any experience. It's all command-line driven implementations. For some, that's a turn-off.""Oracle could be improved by the ability to manage it on the cloud. This on-premises version is secure and reliable, but I'm sure that they will soon provide a cloud solution that will be even better. In one to two years, we will probably move to the cloud—we have already moved to the cloud with Microsoft Exchange, but our databases are still on-premises. I would prefer managing a cloud version of Oracle.""It is a very useful administrative IT tool. It saves on costs.""There is an issue with their application on ODG. There were a lot of edits in the logs. Sometimes, we only get a little cue from the Data Guard Broker logs if there's an issue.""We would like to be able to see the date time stamp when you execute DGMGRL commands.""The pricing of the solution is quite high. They should do what they can to bring it down so that it is more reasonable for customers like us.""The IP implementation and maintenance are a little bit hard to manage across Oracle solutions, including Oracle Data Guard.""It is a rather complex solution, so it could be more user-friendly."
