We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
Offers a single pane of glass to view inventory, code version management, and inner operations. The most valuable feature is the auto-discovery, which is nice because you don't have to do anything to add a new component. We were able to standardize the internal processes across all internal departments, resulting in almost an elimination of non-standard process flows through our organization.I have found the cross analysis feature to be the most valuable. The Spectrum tool improved our network assurance levels for our business units. All networks (or network equipment) are monitored through CA Spectrum.

It is more cost effective and gives more flexibility.HiveManager is incredibly useful for managing APs and switches from one cloud interface.HiveManager is extremely easy to use for anyone with little network experience. The cloud-based controller through HiveManager is its most valuable feature. I can manage and configure changes to my access points from anywhere. The cloud-based management interface allows us to fully manage all our wireless radios, ensuring consistency and ease of access. The cloud management gives us the tools and reports that we need to monitor and troubleshoot the network.

Cons
The company is trying desperately to sustain the platform by bolting on changes to it to enhance it. It is not a long-term solution. The interface is not nice and needs to be improved. We want to make our own choice for the AIOps solution and do not want to be forced to use the Broadcom OI solution by default. For us, the implementation was quite complex but it's because of the large number of different environments we're dealing with. The CA Technologies sales team destroyed their relationship with our business units. It needs better integration with other CA products.OS monitoring needs to be better developed, as well as their services, e.g., cluster monitoring, URLs, etc.

Pricing is a bit expensive.Need port aggregation on the 2384 switches to take full advantage of ac on the APs. I understand that is on their product road map.Browser load time for the cloud is long and needs improvement. We have had some mediocre to poor experiences with tech support: Conflicting information, condescending attitudes, and reluctance to work to resolve an issue.

Pricing and Cost Advice
The product, support, and maintenance are all expensive, which is another reason that we are switching to another solution. In general, the license cost will be about 30% of the total TCO for this tool (hardware/support team, OS costs, and OS management).

There are probably cheaper solutions but we invest for stability and performance for the longer haul.
