We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature of the solution would be the level of visibility that you get. I haven't seen anything that gives us that level of visibility yet""The most useful features are cloud monitoring, application monitoring, and alert notifications.""Google says is that you have a number of things on which you should measure your performance. One is if there's an error or not. Dynatrace tells you whether is an error or not. Second is saturation, whether something is getting saturated. You should be aware of what is getting saturated. Dynatrace even tells you that. The third is if there is a latency. Network latency is also told to me by Dynatrace.""24/7, all transactions: The fact that every transaction is captured gives us the possibility of acting on every exception. But it also shows us what happens when everything works well, so we can compare it with the moment something goes wrong.""Support from Dynatrace is excellent. They are always on hand for any queries, demos, and/or issues.""It has created total transparency between technology and business on all aspects of systems and performance as well as being a proxy for network performance through user experience monitoring. This followed a major performance degradation of our primary frontline system, which highlighted inadequacy of infrastructure focus tools, e.g., Nagios and Zabbix. It helped detect and remediate several performance issues on systems on both vendor supplied packages as well as in-house developed systems. It also improved InfraOps and development teams understanding of system behaviour and performance characteristics.""The most valuable features for us include problem detection, root cause identification, Smartscape, and integration with cloud infrastructure like AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.""The agent deployment is the most valuable. You don't need to do any configuration. You just deploy the agents, and it can automatically detect your infrastructure. That was the greatest feature that we saw in Dynatrace. If there is any database, it can detect it automatically and present everything to you."

"Infrastructure Monitoring and End User Monitoring are the product’s most valuable features to me.""It provides a history of the activities on our SQL servers.""Having standard monitoring features and a central repository saves us a lot of time and reduces risk of incidents.""Capacity on database and file servers. I found the algorithms to forecast growth and concerns particularly intuitive.""The ability to track performance of an application or application suite over time is extremely valuable to our business partners and for our application development team with near real time results.""Intuitive, Single-pane-of-glass dashboards for real-time statistics and long-term statistics for capacity management and in-depth analytics""Sometimes we can solve problems before they occur.""With the APM you can replay the end user session and see issues quickly by viewing the session."

Cons
"It still has a long way to go to reach that single pane of glass.""Dashboards are too clumsy, so it is good to keep less on dashboards and be easier to find the sections.""I would like more flexible data export functions and APIs. The end user experience data is very useful to the solutions team to determine actual system usage and misuse. Flexible, easier data APIs would allow us to export the data more easily to other analytics platforms to enable this analysis as well as enable storage of this data for longer term analysis since DynaTrace only holds user data for 35 days.""If you want to see a month's data, it keeps on spinning. Here is an improvement which needs to happen, which is the case with all applications or tools. There is a lot of data, and either we have to change the way we are logging or the application needs to be enhanced.""One of the new features is "impacted users." I would like to see a rate of impacted users. For example, how long has the problem been going on: 100 users in five minutes. Does that mean that in 3 hours if we don't get this solved, we're impacting x number of people? Understanding the rate at which the problem is impacting people would be a cool feature.""Support for cloud-based environments needs to be improved.""Cloud monitoring and reporting need improvement, as well as how to manipulate data and export it to share with business executives.""The pricing of the product could be improved."

More Dynatrace Cons →

"I want to see mobile access application in the next release.""Being able to incorporate other bespoke monitoring into Foglight would have made the tool even more useful.""There are some metrics I'd like to track that are difficult to find or implement into a tracking solution without a lot of manual work.""The version compatibility needs work.""They need to improve the stability of FxM and FxV.""I would perhaps like to see more SSMS connections.""It needs a more intuitive way to create and implement custom "Cartridges" to be deployed through out a Federated environment.""I think installation and setup needs little more improvement especially when you are installing with external database."
