Overview

EMC Atmos is an object-based cloud storage platform to store, archive and access unstructured content at scale. Atmos provides the essential building blocks for enterprises and service providers to transform to private, hybrid, and public cloud storage.

SpiderOak is a cloud-based data storage center where users can securely retrieve files from any device. The service is designed to keep data private while letting it be opened and synced across multiple computers and mobile devices. Its zero-knowledge policy assures the user that the information cannot be attained by unauthorized users, not even SpiderOak staff. SpiderOak cloud services are automatically backed up so changes and edits are immediately saved. Changes made to data can be synced in full or in part and can be shared with other users through SpiderOak, using their password protected ShareRooms. Users have the advantage of accessing data from any device within the SpiderOak network either by phone, tablet, or web browser. Lastly, data can be stored with SpiderOak from multiple operating systems _ Mac, Windows, and Linux _ in addition to storing data from external hard drives. The privacy guaranteed by SpiderOak means no one, even with server access, can read file or folder names. Unlike encryption keys stored with customer data, SpiderOak's passwords cannot be decrypted or recovered; no information about a user's unique encryption key is kept on file. SpiderOak has been used by numerous businesses for cloud secure data. A large multi-national organization used the cloud service to backup millions of desktops, including those with limited online connectivity. SpiderOak helped the organization maintain access to local files, work within local compliance requirements, and control potential data leaks.
