It gives this control using Hitachi Dynamic Tiering for Mainframe policies over volumes in the Dynamic Tiering pool. Hitachi Dynamic Tiering (HDT) automates fine-grain, page-based tiering for optimum performance and utilization with tiered storage. Coupled with online policy-based control of storage service levels, this tiering helps improve performance and prevent problems.
