Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The performance is good.""Extreme Networks is the only one that has this kind of universal switch. It simplifies things greatly. Customers no longer have to worry about the price differences between traditional and fabric technology switches, which used to have their own pricing. This has made it easier for us as solution providers to tailor options for our customers with fewer but more suitable choices.""Enterasys Campus LAN Switches is a trustable and powerful solution. The solution has good web management features. You can do whatever you want, like a CLI. The solution is easy to diagnose and manage. I like the Linux-based operating system. If any service crashes, you need to restart the system."

"The vendor maintains the product well.""The solution is stable.""The 40 gig backbone InterConneX was valuable for our use case. It is even faster now. QFabric has spine-leaf technology or topology, which basically makes every single hop only one hop away in terms of connecting from one device to another. It is a pretty good and robust solution. It works pretty well in terms of scalability, and their technical support is amazing.""Juniper QFabric has various advantages including scalability, simplicity, performance, and flexibility.""It's user-friendly.""The solution is easy to use and has good performance.""It is known for being agile, flexible, and cost-effective when working with various vendors.""QFabric supports redundancy and includes all of the enterprise and service provider features that customers would want in data center or service provider network."

Cons
"While the support is good, it could be better, and the price could be reduced.""Security features do exist, and they're mostly common with other switches. What makes these switches unique is the ability to see application layers on the switch, but not directly through the switch. There are tools from Extreme Networks that allow visibility of such traffic, which other switches lack. Extreme CloudIQ analytics can analyze all the traffic on Extreme Switches up to layer seven, offering full visibility. However, this tool is necessary for such detailed analytics and might not be compatible with some third-party products.""The tool's price is high. We need a cost-effective service. It also needs to add wireless controller features like Huawei."

"The stability needs to be improved.""The pricing structure could be more budget-friendly.""They are working on the virtualization of the actual fabric layer. They are moving away from the original spine-leaf design to a different infrastructure. Instead of having three tiers, which was the director of the interconnected nodes, they cut them back, and they still have that kind of structure.""Having support for all OpenFlow versions would be beneficial.""It works too much on rebooting and there is some memory leakage.""The disruptive upgrade was an issue for us.""It would be nice if Juniper provided the system integrator with training, similar to that of Cisco.""I do not use GUI's very much for switch stacks. I am always in the CLI. However, I do know that Juniper in the past has lacked on their GUI's, but they have been working on it."
