Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The product enables users to customize their dashboards and reports.""The most valuable features of Epicor ERP are ease of use, powerful API, and comprehensive integration. It is a one-vendor solution, where other vendors need other software systems from multiple vendors.""Epicor ERP is very technical friendly, if you want to do any customization, it's very easy.""Epicor ERP is an easy-to-use solution.""There's good flexibility within the inbuilt tools such as alerts, business process management, dashboards, and screen customization.""With Epicor, we can call a pitch between Epicor and the PLM database, which is a significant advantage.""Real-time results make for faster decision making.""The ability to deploy a generic implementation without advanced customization."

"The solution overall is very versatile and flexible, especially compared to other products.""Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine or ten out of ten since it is an extremely scalable solution that can be used for various use cases with thousands of users.""What I like about IFS Applications is that it's easier to use and implement than SAP. I also like that the IFS Applications team is more flexible than the SAP team.""Having a young talented programmer, during the six years of use, we were able to save around 75 000 EUR preparing simple modifications using customization rather than ordering them in IFS / Partner.""The workflow of the solution is very good.""The financial posting controls are quite handy. The user interface is really friendly, highly flexible, and pretty intuitive for end users.""I like the connectivity and interfaces. In V10, it's easy to modify the interfaces and layouts, but it's becoming more complicated in the cloud. IFS is excellent at asset maintenance and incident management. They have specialized modules for IFS that cover incident and asset management and everything else connected to finance. The reporting in IFS is also easy to use.""Some of the strengths are Enterprise Management Solutions and the series of Management solutions which is number one in Gartner's report and has been for the last five years."

Cons
"There's a new version of the solution that has some bugginess. They're cleaning that up. The user interface is an area that needs improvement and they're improving.""Epicor didn't care about user level and software applications. So, it's not so user-friendly for nontechnical people.""There are some glitches in Epicor ERP.""In the newer version of Epicor ERP, it's very difficult to find out that tracing.""The tool should provide a better user interface.""A number of bugs in 9.05 were only fixed in 10.""Right now, it doesn't really have a good cloud story.""I would like to see a better reporting tool."

More Epicor ERP Cons →

"We have upgraded to the latest version right now. We have issues with the quality. We tried to enroll in their Evergreen program which was meant to help us adopt any service update or anything that the tool’s providers come up with.""The next version has already been released, and some of the technical things are a little bit behind the curve in development. This is specifically security, maintenance, security role maintenance, and creation. This is in their new product, called IFS Cloud.""The integration is a bit complex, and post-implementation support services need to be improved. They have a service center based out of Sri Lanka. The support aspect is good, but the response time is a little slower than we anticipated. In the next release, it would be better if Warehouse Management could be improvised. They have a product line that's a data warehouse management system, but it's still premature and requires a bit of enhancement.""Ability to place approval check-points in the custom workflow, so clients can decide what they want it.""The CRM was shaky and although this improves in Apps 10, there is room for improvement.""The user interface can be improved. When you're clicking through the screens, there are some icons or symbols that really need updating and would be more useful and noticeable if they are aesthetically pleasing.""An area for improvement would be transactions, which can be tedious to complete as the process is very complex.""Customization needs to be improved."

  • "When comparing Epicor ERP to the other related products, the pricing, additional enhancements, as well as implementation, are better."

  • "Licensing is on an annual basis, with no additional costs."
  • "Ask for all-inclusive pricing, as they are pretty flexible if you ask for custom models."
  • "Pricing is an area that could be improved. They could be more competitive."
  • "IFS Applications is expensive software, but it's on par with SAP and Oracle. It's for large enterprises and government entities and not for small and medium-sized enterprises. They have one licensing model, but if you want to have a module-specific license, they provide component-based licenses. Unlike SAP and Oracle, it doesn't have different levels of licensing. It's one level of licensing."
  • "There's an additional yearly cost for support."
  • "There are varying license levels that you can purchase."
  • "IFS Applications are competitive in terms of pricing compared to other vendors, such as SAP, Oracle, and Epicor. They are generally cheaper, especially for licensing costs."
