We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:
This solution blocks the brand new malware threats.
In terms of the current global landscape, it is a great solution.
Advanced level endpoint firewall, which helps to block unwanted and malicious traffic.
What is great about ESET is the ERA Web Console through which we can pull various reports, monitor and administer all clients and servers, and the console is easy to use.
A feature we like is setting the GUI of ESET Endpoint Security/ESET File Security to silent mode because some servers and clients can have performance issues.
We use ESET, which is pretty much perfect for us. It is also absolutely simple and automatic once setup.
We have not picked up a bug yet, because we use ESET, which is a tried and proven system.
It is absolutely invisible once running.
I find it is the most reliable solution on the market.
It is a stable product.
We never expect downtime. There is also great ease of use for my admins.
It's a good proxy to control the user's access to the website.
The centralized console is great for us. It gives us one centralized console to manage all of the endpoints.
It's customizable, we're able to tune it to work with our products.
The initial setup is straightforward.
Managing SEP is very easy, and also troubleshooting part is easily managed.
I would like them to use AI features to do preventative virus protection.
ESET should consider giving it application control.
They need to improve licensing for VMs. When ESET is uninstalled from a VM, the seat stays on the license management server. We have to manually delete the seat from that server because it doesn't know how to handle it. I contacted exclusive ESET support here in Croatia and they told me there is no solution for this yet.
iOS compatibility for mobile security and parental control.
I think the CPU dependence should be enhanced.
Sometimes tech support is a bit slow to find a solution.
It seems that its not working very well with VMWare.
It's not cheap.
It would be nice to be able to manage the endpoints a bit further. A valuable attribute would be the management of software inventory, software deployment, and third-party software deployment. I would like to see the ability to deploy and delete unlicensed software. Many users try to install what they shouldn't, so that would be really useful.
I would like to see even more customization, the possibility to do whitelisting. It needs to be a little bit more liberal on whitelisting, even to use the name if needed, instead of hashes.
When, Microsoft releases a new OS version twice a year, you never know if the current version of Symantec Endpoint Protection will support it. You can have a lag between when Microsoft releases a new client - and then the current version doesn't work correctly - and it could be some months between updates from Symantec.
I would like to see fileless attack protection.
Pricing and Cost Advice
At first, we thought it was a bit expensive, but we negotiated a better price.
The cost is a very reasonable. When compared with other products, the price is low (though not very low).
ESET is perfect, if you can afford it.
Pricing per month, for security services as apps in CEE pricing: up to €2 monthly is OK.
Pricing and licensing are important to us when choosing a product.
It's not cheap.
It is the better product, even if it is a little on the higher side.
Licensing is per user. Therefore, it makes it easy to do licensing.
What we have paid for this product is good value for the work and the services that they are providing to us.
Regarding the licensing, it was important negotiate a long contract to get a more attractive price, including advanced support in case of crisis.
I’d say SEP deserves the money.
