We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
The most valuable features are the sandbox, mail scanning, sandboxing attachments, files, and that it responds to VPN porting.Technical support has been very good. They're quick to respond to any problems. The most valuable feature is the antispam module, which comes in the bundle. The most valuable feature of this solution is the management. This solution blocks the brand new malware threats. In terms of the current global landscape, it is a great solution.Advanced level endpoint firewall, which helps to block unwanted and malicious traffic. What is great about ESET is the ERA Web Console through which we can pull various reports, monitor and administer all clients and servers, and the console is easy to use.

The most valuable features of the solution include the endpoint navigation protection, the protection related to the EMS service, as well as the control and the cloud integration capabilities. The feature we found most valuable is the AI functionality for maintaining endpoint security. This is very powerful.Valuable features include good scanning, very light footprint and management console that the client can access and (just as important) in which I can see status of groups of computers (I am a consultant, IT role).

Cons
The solution includes only Intrusion Detection and not IPS, which is an important feature that is missing in my version. The solution should offer more security surrounding blacklisted websites. If I were in an environment that required a large-scale deployment then I would choose another solution over ESET.Everything has some kind of room for improvement.I would like them to use AI features to do preventative virus protection.ESET should consider giving it application control. They need to improve licensing for VMs. When ESET is uninstalled from a VM, the seat stays on the license management server. We have to manually delete the seat from that server because it doesn't know how to handle it. I contacted exclusive ESET support here in Croatia and they told me there is no solution for this yet.

There needs to be more advanced analytics. It would make it a more powerful antivirus solution within the marketplace. We need to know more details about how the virus interacted with the computer. The console spins up relatively slowly, and some of the configuration items are obscure (e.g., reporting back one time per day is a default setting) and need to be tweaked.

Pricing and Cost Advice

There aren't any costs above the standard licensing fee. This solution is a good value for the money. At first, we thought it was a bit expensive, but we negotiated a better price. The cost is a very reasonable. When compared with other products, the price is low (though not very low).

If you purchase for clients, then you are the managing billing entity. It's better to either get a monthly subscription check from your clients, or to prepay for the year (so as to not keep cash in reserve to pay the bill each month) IMHO.
