Pros
"It is a reliable solution.""It is among the best, even if not widely known.""Back in the day, we could only get reports and analyze what happened after the fact, but today now we can generate real-time insights. We generate models and then give them to the clients, so they can come up with real-time predictions and recommendations in addition to reporting."

It has proven to be highly reliable in my experience.""It speeds up the performance in terms of how fast you are able to access the data, look at it, get it reported to you, and send it to somebody. Cons
"Transformation Manager reporting could be better. There are better options for reporting tools these days. We use Microsoft BI sometimes, but Tableau is becoming too expensive. Microsoft BI's visualization features are maturing.""There is room for improvement in the solution's visualization tool.""They should build a functional architecture based on queuing."

"The private solution is expensive. If you're in a situation where you're paying IBM or AWS or somebody just to host you specifically, you're paying people to run it and you're taking care of all the upgrades.""I would like to see it become mobile-friendly.""There is room for improvement in terms of pricing and faster support.""Improvement is a never ending story, and HANA is doing some improvements. We are able to adopt that, and we have to do it by integration with HANA. They are very major changes that we need to see."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It's a very expensive solution."
  • "You can pick one of the hosted cloud services as opposed to owning it and doing it yourself. Your cost of ownership on the hardware, the data storage, and the maintenance all go down. It depends on what service you use."

    Overview
Transformation Manager is an integrated development toolkit that is used to build data migration and data integration solutions more efficiently. A metadata-driven code generator, Transformation Manager provides users with the ability to generate lightweight, easy-to-deploy code. It combines a Graphical User Interface with a statement-driven mapping language. The Transformation Manager software derives metadata from the elements, attributes and relationships in a source and target model. Transformation Manager then uses rules specified by Simple Mapping Language (SML), which is specifically designed for implementing data transformation projects, to generate code written in Java.

Information and data-driven insight is what powers business today. But to get the most from your enterprise data, you need a way to bring transactional, streaming, social media, and other data together – regardless of its format and whether it’s structured or unstructured – and be able to analyze it. The challenge is moving, replicating, and centralizing a wide variety of data efficiently, cost-effectively, and quickly enough to meet business demands for active insight. SAP® Replication Server® can help. SAP Replication Server enables the continuous movement of mission-critical application data.
