We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Back in the day, we could only get reports and analyze what happened after the fact, but today now we can generate real-time insights. Transformation Manager feeds your data science projects. We generate models and then give them to the clients, so they can come up with real-time predictions and recommendations in addition to reporting.""It is among the best, even if not widely known.""It is a reliable solution."

"WhereScape is really helpful in terms of architecture data. Everything is one of automation. Two people can do thousands of tables in one day or two. It saves a lot of time.""It has a built-in automatic scheduling environment.""Naturally produces a way to easily debug your DW data solutions.""Support is absolutely excellent, efficient, and timely.""Data transformations and rollups are easy to accomplish.""This is a fantastically robust DW tool that will make you at least 10 times faster in producing a DW.""Their support staff are very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I feel their support staff go above and beyond to assure their customers are satisfied.""WhereScape RED has improved our business's ability to generate needed reporting without requiring a large team of developers to manually code all of the necessary plumbing."

Cons
"There is room for improvement in the solution's visualization tool.""They should build a functional architecture based on queuing.""Transformation Manager reporting could be better. There are better options for reporting tools these days. We use Microsoft BI sometimes, but Tableau is becoming too expensive. Microsoft BI's visualization features are maturing."

"Improve the object renaming ability (it works, but it could be more automated).""Project-based searching of data objects in the data warehouse browser needs to be improved.""Customization could be better.""Technical support isn't the best.""It could use a tool to diagnose what is missing from the environment for WhereScape to install successfully.""No support for change data capture or delta detection - that must be custom coded .""The scheduled jobs which are run by the WhereScape scheduler seem to be a strangely separate animal. Unlike all other WhereScape objects, jobs cannot be added to WhereScape projects. Also, unlike all other objects, jobs also cannot be deleted using a WhereScape deployment application.""They need a more robust support center. It has been a bit difficult to find solutions to problems that are out-of-the-box."

    Overview
Transformation Manager is an integrated development toolkit that is used to build data migration and data integration solutions more efficiently. A metadata-driven code generator, Transformation Manager provides users with the ability to generate lightweight, easy-to-deploy code. It combines a Graphical User Interface with a statement-driven mapping language. The Transformation Manager software derives metadata from the elements, attributes and relationships in a source and target model. Transformation Manager then uses rules specified by Simple Mapping Language (SML), which is specifically designed for implementing data transformation projects, to generate code written in Java.

WhereScape is data warehouse software that automates the Data Warehouse lifecycle. From implementation to maintenance, WhereScape will ensure your data warehouse projects are completed up to 5x faster than manual coding.
