We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The log query feature has been the most valuable because it's very good. You can put your data on the cloud and run queues from Sentinel. It will do it all very fast. I love that I don't have to upload it to an Excel file and then manually look for a piece of information. Sentinel is much faster and is good for big databases.""I like the KQL query. It simplifies getting data from the table and seeing the logs. All you need to know are the table names. It's quite easy to build use cases by using KQL.""The Identity Behavior tab furnishes us with the entire history linked to each IP or domain that has either accessed or attempted to access our system.""The product can integrate with any device.""Sentinel uses Azure Logic Apps for automation, which is really powerful. This allows us to easily automate responses to incidents.""The automation feature is valuable.""Microsoft Sentinel enables you to ingest data from the entire ecosystem and that connection of data helps you to monitor critical resources and to know what's happening in the environment.""What is most useful, is that it has a good connection to the Microsoft ecosystem, and I think that's the key part."

"The user interface and the timelines they use are the most valuable features. The price model is very simple so that one can understand it easily and there are no surprises within it.""The setup is not difficult. It was easy.""I have customers that like the EUBA functionality of it. The solution has the ability to build a session, basically. It pulls a lot of information together, for example, everything a user does in a specific timeframe. It's quite helpful.""The way it can connect with AWS is very useful, and the integrations are pretty good.""The most valuable feature of Exabeam Fusion SIEM is the easy-to-use user interface.""The solution's initial setup process is easy.""Timeline based analysis; good platform support""Exabeam Fusion SIEM has a good performance and more advantages than traditional solutions."

"As a whole, the product is stable...Technical support is very good.""The UBA, User Behavior Analytics, is very good.""The initial setup of IBM Resilient is not that complex since my company already has a support license that we use internally. In general, the product's deployment phase is not that complex.""It's really simple and has a flexible interface.""The most valuable thing about it is how easy it is to navigate the user interface.""The solution is reliable in our usage.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten...Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""This is a good solution that we recommend for customers."

Cons
"Azure Sentinel will be directly competing with tools such as Splunk or Qradar. These are very established kinds of a product that have been around for the last seven, eight years or more.""I believe one of the challenges I encountered was the absence of live training sessions, even with the option to pay for them.""Microsoft Defender has a built-in threat expert option that enables you to contact an expert. That feature isn't available in Sentinel because it's a huge product that integrates all the technologies. I would like Microsoft to add the threat expert option so we can contact them. There are a few other features, like threat assessment that the PG team is working on. I expect them to release this feature in the next quarter.""The product can be improved by reducing the cost to use AI machine learning.""They can work on the EDR side of things... Every time we need to onboard these kinds of machines into the EDR, we need to do it with the help of Intune, to sync up the devices, and do the configuration. I'm looking for something on the EDR side that will reduce this kind of work.""There are certain delays. For example, if an alert has been rated on Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, it might take up to an hour for that alert to reach Sentinel. This should ideally take no more than one or two seconds.""There is a wider thing called Jupyter Notebooks, which is around the automation side of things. It would be good if there are playbooks that you can utilize without having to have the developer experience to do it in-house. Microsoft could provide more playbooks or more Jupyter Notebooks around MITRE ATT&CK Framework.""The solution could improve the playbooks."

More Microsoft Sentinel Cons →

"We still have questions surrounding hardware deployment.""I believe if it were more flexible it would be a better product.""The initial setup of Exabeam Fusion SIEM is complex because it needs to integrate with the SIEM solution, but after this is complete it is straightforward.""We had a large volume right from the beginning and they weren't quite prepared for that. That's something that they should think about when it comes to customers that have a large volume to start off with.""They need to focus on more of the MITRE ATT&CK Framework and coverage. They claim they cover about 70 to 80%. I'm not sure if it's really quite that much, however.""The only problem is that the UI is not very impressive.""Updating the new release of Exabeam Fusion SIEM takes time and slows our performance.""The organzation is rigid and not flexible in the way they operate"

More Exabeam Fusion SIEM Cons →

"Its price needs improvement.""The tool needs to improve its documentation on license scripts.""The integration could be improved so that it is easy to integrate with other solutions.""The implementation could be a bit simpler.""IBM Resilient is quite complex, including its configuration.""What could make IBM Resilient better is if IBM increased the number of built-in integrations with different products from other vendors or third-party products.""The response time of the support is an area of concern where improvements are required.""One thing to improve is how it handles data formats, which currently might require scripting for conversion to CSV before uploading."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It comes with a Microsoft subscription which the customer has, so they don't have to invest somewhere else."
  • "It is a consumption-based license model. bands at 100, 200, 400 GB per day etc. Azure Sentinel Pricing | Microsoft Azure"
  • "Good monthly operational cost model for the detection and response outcomes delivered, M365 logs don't count toward the limits which is a good benefit."
  • "I have had mixed feedback. At one point, I heard a client say that it sometimes seems more expensive. Most of the clients are on Office 365 or M365, and they are forced to take Azure SIEM because of the integration."
  • "It is kind of like a sliding scale. There are different tiers of pricing that go from $100 per day up to $3,500 per day. So, it just kind of depends on how much data is being stored. There can be additional costs to the standard license other than the additional data. It just kind of depends on what other services you're spinning up in Azure, or if you're using something like Azure log analytics."
  • "I am just paying for the log space with Azure Sentinel. It costs us about $2,000 a month. Most of the logs are free. We are only paying money for Azure Firewall logs because email logs or Azure AD logs are free to use for us."
  • "Sentinel is a bit expensive. If you can figure a way of configuring it to meet your needs, then you can find a way around the cost."
  • "Azure Sentinel is very costly, or at least it appears to be very costly. The costs vary based on your ingestion and your retention charges."

  • "They have a great model for pricing that can be based either on user count or gigabits per day."
  • "There is an annual license required to use Exabeam Fusion SIEM. The price of the solution should be reduced."
  • "Exabeam Fusion SIEM's pricing is reasonable."
  • "The solution is expensive."
  • More Exabeam Fusion SIEM Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "It is very expensive."
  • "There is a license you need to pay for in order to use this product."
  • "The licensing cost for IBM Resilient is not too expensive, but it's not affordable, so it's moderately expensive. Regarding price, I'm rating the solution seven out of ten. The company pays for the license yearly, based on the number of users. Apart from the cost of the license you need to pay for each user, you also need to spend an initial investment for the base platform. You also have to pay for IBM Resilient support."
  • "We could create unlimited users using the license we had purchased."
  • "I would rate the tool’s pricing a three out of ten. The tool’s pricing is on a yearly basis."
  • "Pricing for the solution is good, in my opinion."
  • "The cost of the product is quite high."
  • "I feel it is an expensive product when my company pays annually for renewal, support, and follow-up."
