Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"It provides us with a single pane of glass for our on-prem environment, to see configuration. We have not implemented into the cloud yet. We can search for an object group and see where it lives on any firewall in the enterprise or find security rules, no matter what firewall they're on.""The Security Manager part of FireMon... gives me an eye on everything that's out there, everything that I cannot see. Because I'm not a network admin, I cannot go to a firewall itself, but at least I have FireMon so that I can go in and view everything that I want to view. And I can eliminate whatever I see that is wrong,""The most valuable feature is the reporting capability because everything that we do is a result of our being able to query a report, based on our environment and our PCI compliance efforts.""It gives us the ability to go to one place to look for potential firewall rules that are inappropriate, or which don't meet compliance. Instead of manually searching hundreds of firewalls for a policy, we can go to this one location and find the rules which are now out of compliance.""It is the single place where we go to review all of our firewall changes. The solution makes it easier for us to track all the changes made. It is a central place where we can look at all the firewall rules, because we have three different firewall vendors. It save us time and creates efficiencies by looking at the general picture."

"The visibility is very good. We have managers who are overseeing it, and they are approving things through it.""We find it to be flexible. If we have a change that needs to be done, it will go ahead and do it for all our devices, regardless of the manufacturer that we have associated with it.""The product streamlines our change management process.""The product is good at auditing the changes that we make in our environment.""We can get reports with Tufin at anytime. We can have automated reports, even with security and compliance.""Its ability to detect changes within our firewall.""It has allowed us to be more efficient in our processing of firewall requests.""The automation because it is saving a lot of work, time, and effort required to do all of our manual work. The change impact analysis is pretty good, and with the automation, it takes care of a lot of things which we would be doing manually."

Cons
"Some of the core functionality in our environment doesn't seem to work. We will get buggy code releases. They need to work on their Q&A of every code release.""We're working on implementing FireMon with our ticketing system service now. Having that would be an improvement.""The current health and monitoring of the devices is atrocious... Imagine you have a list of 200 devices, and you can grade each of those devices as either green, yellow, or red. However, there might be three different reasons for you to go to red, or eight different reasons to go to yellow, and all of those things could be combined... Out of all those categories, I only find one or two of them that are, perhaps, pertinent.""The AWS integration is still not mature for us to use. It is just not ready for our use case for AWS connectivity. Therefore, it does not provide us with a single pane of glass for our cloud environments, because we can't manage our cloud environment with the tool.""The stability has been fairly decent, but there have been a few issues. My coworker has had some issues in the past where he has had to work with support."

"The hardest piece is getting the matrix built.""I would like easier integration with more automation.""There were some hiccups here and there with the initial setup.""I would like to simplify the reports, and maybe have another view besides the charts. Possibly they could be more graphical.""I would like a better reporting feature and automatic alerting based upon rule changes.""The change impact analysis doesn't even get close to actually solving our problems. I am not impressed with it.""The change workflow process is flexible and customizable to some extent, but there is room for improvement. In some cases, we've found it difficult to get the exact thing which we were looking for. Then, we end up having to go and do the thing manually.""We were just talking to them about usage for the F5 platform. They will not be going after specific environments, but a more OpenAPI. They will have other companies write it, etc. It's a little different than I had expected."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"The pricing is very good, very straightforward. It also came in cheaper than AlgoSec and Tufin.""Regarding additional costs, if you want things like Policy Optimizer, extra features, that's extra.""We don't license all of the devices in our network, so it does not provide us with a comprehensive visibility of all devices in a hybrid network at this time.""We pay for it yearly."

"This solution helped us to reduce the time it takes to make changes. We used to spend up to an hour to do a change, and now, it's around five minutes.""Tufin and AlgoSec were pretty much in the competitive price range, but this one provided us better integration into the Check Point environment.""The solution has helped us to reduce the time it takes to make changes. With Tufin, it takes ten to 15 minutes. Before, it was 30 minutes or more.""The solution has helped reduce the time it takes us to make changes. It helps make overall integrated changes immediately. It allows us to cut down at least a few hours in the week in regards to changes and monitoring.""We've seen a decrease of about 50 percent in the overall time it takes to complete a firewall change.""Tufin makes things a little easier. It lessens the amount of manual work which we have to do. It has a lot of benefits in terms of revenues, profits, employee costs, and operational costs. We have already seen return on investment.""This solution helps us reduce the time it takes us to make changes. We're probably saving time by 25%.""Tufin reduced the time it takes to solve a problem, which reduces the time of the outage."
