Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Forescout is easy to integrate with a lot of end systems.""I have noticed that in the last year the license model has changed from licensing the whole appliance to licensing the number of devices. It's more simple for a large installation, or a user to have CounterACT as their peripheral site in the company. It's a good choice to have changed the license policy.""The product is very easy to work with and easy to deploy.""The initial setup is easy, taking no more than two or three weeks.""The plugins are very robust -- the ability scanner, patch management system, and SQL integrator.""Emergency response, risk assessment information to get a view of the of the vulnerability.""It allows for good detection of all the vendor products we have on-site.""The most valuable features of ForeScout is the fact that it can do network access control either with 802.1x or without 802.1x."

More Forescout Platform Pros →

"The most recent is VMDR, which provides a comprehensive overview of how to detect, patch, and remediate specific vulnerabilities.""The most valuable features are vulnerability detection and the scanning capability to enable identification of vulnerabilities across our network.""This is one of the best products I have worked with so far. I like the power of Qualys, and it's a better solution because you can scan a compact file, a BIT file, or batch files. The product already knows what's happening inside, and you don't need to expand the package. Tenable will do the same thing, but you need to have a package issuance claim. With Qualys, we can immediately understand the file, even a compact file. If there's some kind of discovery or incident, you will know what happened in the environment.""They also have threat detection which maps threats. There is a feed that comes from Qualys when a new vulnerability is found. It tells us which machines are infected with that vulnerability.""Qualys VM's best features are vulnerability management and customizable scoring.""The most valuable feature is the connection of threat intelligence information with identified vulnerabilities, which means you can prioritize vulnerabilities according to actual attacks.""I find Qualys VM very robust, and it's very useful for vulnerability management and patch management. The value that it brings to my environment is economies of scale. There is no limitation on adding any endpoints. You go by the rule, and it's added once another endpoint is added to our environment. It's automatically installed, and it's less work from our end. It frees up my license automatically if I don't need an endpoint or if my machine is decommissioned. I like the dashboard displays because I don't see any duplication. The most important part is vulnerability management and prioritization. Unlike Symantec, it shows the kind of vulnerability I would want to patch first. It provides a holistic view of the kind of vulnerabilities and the ones I should remediate first. I don't have to do a scan; it just brings up those critical kinds of vulnerabilities like zero-day vulnerabilities and tells me to prioritize them. You have to prioritize these vulnerabilities first and go on with the rest. The dashboard shows me the ones that have been fixed, so I don't have to complete an aging report. The user experience and the graphical interface are good. As it's user-friendly and understandable on an executive level, it brings real value. We also use this solution because it's robust and flexibile.""The reporting is fine."

Cons
"Better integration with third-party vendors is needed because as it is now, the list of third-party solutions that we can integrate and automate is quite limited.""Multitenancy should be included in the next version so it could be used as a managed service provider.""Forescout Platform could improve the integration or compatibility with other solutions, such as Chinese-made solutions. They do not have any integration with S33 which is a switch. They do not have good integration with new solutions in the market. They do integrate well with Rocket, Cisco, Juniper, and quite a few more but they could expand the integration.""Custom integrations need to be better.""Although Forescout manages endpoints and network devices, there is no capability for user management.""The system controls could be better.""Forescout needs to upgrade its development in the future.""They should improve features related to IT security. ForeScout should analyze behavior to see if the behavior is malicious behavior and block this device. They should develop the ability to analyze the behavior of the device in my environment."

More Forescout Platform Cons →

"The reporting and the GUI need improvements.""Improve the user interface.""The price could be better. Asset view is still a legacy feature. I'm not able to extract the information about the asset with complete details. It would be better if they fixed that in the next release. I know Qualys is already working on it, so I'm hopeful it will be available in the next five or six months. That would be something that's changed where I seek improvement.""When you want to cover yourself for scalability, you will be charged for the number you place on the scan itself.""I do not like that all of the data is stored on the cloud.""Sometimes we face a problem with accessing the tool and not getting an expected result. From a technology point of view, they need to look into this.""I would like to see this solution more developed and competitive in the Cloud space.""It's too early for me to say if there is any room for improvement since we're in the first couple of months of using this solution."
