We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We use the solution for routing and cloud security. We have multiple offices nationwide, all connected through the MPRS network, which is terminated at our FortiGate firewall. We consolidate our networks, filter packets, and segment our network through this firewall. My company has around three lakh firewalls.""The solution offers good network performance and efficiency.""The solution works well for remote or branch offices.""The intel we get from Fortinet is its most valuable aspect.""The most valuable feature of this solution is the stability, it's actually tailored for that.""The installation is very simple.""It's user-friendly.""This is a vast system that includes a lot of features."

"I am very comfortable with it, including it's reporting on threats and through its activities.""From a scalability perspective, I found the solution to be completely fine...The solution's technical support is absolutely fine.""I like the tool's controller facility.""It does a little bit better than some of the other products health-wise and updates-wise. It is really clear that a firewall is getting the signature updates in this timeframe. In some of the other products, usually, you have to go a couple of screens in to see that, but not so much in this product.""I like the product's asset management which gives clear hardware details.""The customer likes it for the graphs, the dynamics and the reporting functionality it offers.""The documentation has been satisfactory.""The firewall and site-blocking features are valuable."

Cons
"The SSL visibility could be better.""The platform's reporting and analysis capabilities need improvement.""We've not seen any areas for improvement.""In the email security modules they have in their UTM, maybe they can include more extended or expanded features for the email security where users can have their own portal login to release blocked emails, as an example.""GUI access could be improved. It should be simpler to access everything from the portal. Once we log in to the portal, we should be able to access all the Fortinet Cloud options.""If you need to scale, you do need to trade up to a new Fortinet solution.""The interface and dashboards should improve in Fortinet FortiGate Cloud. Other solutions have better graphical interfaces.""The solution’s pricing and stability could be improved."

More Fortinet FortiGate Cloud Cons →

"Fortinet FortiPortal could improve by providing a learning portal and better security.""I find their logging a little bit trickier to manage. The logging of events is broken up into a lot of different categories. Instead of breaking up my logs into several different places, I personally like to have all the events in one spot and then filter them down. In particular, I find that troubleshooting on Fortinet takes a little bit longer just because of those functional breakups in the logs.""There can be defects in Fortinet FortiPortal when functioning at high temperatures.""It's useful for us but if it had more educational reporting, it would good. It's not necessarily lacking but it's an area that could get better.""The solution is more expensive than other products.""Fingerprint access security would improve this solution.""The product must have in-built SD-WAN connectivity.""If you are a very small company or a person on your own, it's harder to get any response from technical support."
