We performed a comparison between Fortinet FortiDB [EOL] and Tenable Nessus based on real PeerSpot user reviews.
Find out what your peers are saying about Tenable, Wiz, Check Point Software Technologies and others in Vulnerability Management."The solution is very good at preventing intrusions. You can definitely rely on this solution to cover your security."
"We use it to protect files and to prevent users from browsing them while they are being used."
"The dashboard is very simple. It has an easy to use interface."
"The most valuable features of this solution are the security aspects."
"It is extremely stable, and can expand as per our needs due to its stability."
"The biggest thing, for us lately, has been their cloud tools. They're like Intercept X from Sophos, where they'll test for ransomware. Fortinet has the same sort of set up with their cloud devices. So your firewall picks up something suspicious, it sends it up to the cloud for analysis. We also have their in-house antivirus. Having different antivirus checkpoints throughout the network is a good thing as well."
"It is easy to deploy and easy to use. Its reporting is good. From this reporting, you can see the pain point in your network, which makes it easy to fix them. It is easy to understand the reports and export them."
"Nessus is effortless to integrate."
"It's scalable."
"The vulnerability scanner is the most valuable feature."
"We looked at Tenable, Qualys and Rapid7. We found Tenable was the best of all three."
"It also has an executive report where you don't have to provide the client all the detail for them to sift though. But if they wish to dig through the detail they can."
"The initial setup of Tenable Nessus is very easy."
"I am impressed with the tool's vulnerability scanning."
"We had some issues trying to fix some critical bugs, such as the SSL encryption."
"I'm an old-school guy. I really don't like web GUI interfaces. They're always slow and laggy and their design is restricted, whereas a binary deployment for an admin tool is always faster, easier, more flexible. I would like that kind of functionality from Fortinet."
"I would like better APIs and integration with other products, like Python and SQL."
"Some use case analyses could be improved."
"The pricing of this solution is a little bit on the high side and can be improved."
"They need to improve the web filter to make it more user-friendly."
"The solution could improve by having better integration with different vendors' IPS solutions. The ACLs and IPS policies signatures should be enabled based on the results of Tenable Nessus automatically, we currently have to do it manually which is very time-consuming. It has done a good job integrating with Fortinet but we would like it to be better integrated with other solutions that we have."
"Remediation needs improvement."
"I would like to see an improvement in the ranking of high, medium and low vulnerability."
"From my point of view the solution basically is not for the big enterprise."
"I have found it is sometimes difficult to control the Zoom meeting sessions. For example, it is difficult to know who is talking and when trying to mute everyone but the speaker you end up muting everyone. When using multiple screens it is laborious to find the control buttons, such as to start a session. Additionally, when a recording is done I have found it difficult to find them, there should be an easier way to retrieve them."
"I would like to see more on the automation side."
"To be honest, I haven't used it much to tell you that these are the things that should be improved. But I believe the UI should be enhanced somewhat. For example, there are two ways to find a report, and people are frequently confused as to which is the correct method for locating a full report. Sometimes they go in the opposite direction, so this is an area that may be improved."
"EQA's and dashboards should be addressed in the next release."
