We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"The best feature of Fortinet FortiManager is its ease of use. It is easy to manage the firewall from Fortinet FortiManager. Additionally, the interface is very good.""The solution is very stable.""The most valuable feature is the central configuration for firewall policies.""The most valuable features are the centralized management of the firewalls.""For the whole security fabric from Fortinet, with a simple click you can see if some workstations or services are affected by an attack. You can really easily quarantine it, check the solution, and fix it.""It would normally take us a handful of days to install one FortiGate instance on one site. But with this technology, zero-touch deployment, we need just one hour or maybe as little as 30 minutes to install one site. It is much more efficient.""There is something called zero-touch provisioning, where you can add a new device without any configuration. You just add it to FortiManager and then forget about it.""Everybody is quite happy with the way that the graphical user interface works."

"I personally think the site-to-site VPN is the most useful feature. A lot of firewalls have that, but to me, that's one of the features that's essential.""Has a very simple OS and a good price point.""The information security features are the most valuable.""There are many useful features, such as web security and advanced threat detection.""It is more robust than SonicWall, particularly on the VPN from site to site.""There are a lot of features that we like within the solution. The resources or performance of the firewall is very good. However, the real selling point is the fact that the solution offers so many features, it gives our clients a lot of extras that they can work with. There's a lot on offer.""The main features I find useful are intrusion prevention and web filtering. Additionally, the solution is easy to manage.""All networks are security-driven, we get throughputs and security. We feel that the people at Fortinet are easy to deal with from a support standpoint. If they need to jump in and help us, they're very willing to do that. Their email filtering, their data loss prevention, their intrusion prevention, type of products in the newest OSs has been outstanding."

Cons
"The FortiManager is more complex and they can make it easier to use the VPN manager. All other features are okay. However, the VPN manager is more difficult and can cause some issues in the environment, if you do not have the experience to use it.""Performance issues should be improved. We have problems when we have more mobile connections than local devices. Most of us have two to three devices.""Regional support in African countries needs to be improved.""We have some visibility issues with the reporting.""Troubleshooting for Fortinet products is more difficult than competing products like Cisco and Palo Alto.""Fortinet is releasing quite a lot of new versions and I would say that most of the versions are not well tested before they're pushed out. Even the new versions sometimes are a bit buggy before it's all correct.""The response times from technical support need to be a bit quicker.""Can be difficult to configure."

"It would be great if they can push the Microsoft updates through Fortinet OS and provide a centralized patch management system. They should also include the data loss prevention (DLP) and data leakage prevention features. They could also add network monitoring more effectively.""Technical support could be better. Some competitors have much more responsive support teams.""The reporting and monitoring could improve, they have a lot of limitations. The monitoring is not easy compared to the other firewall.""The pricing model makes this product far more expensive than similar solutions.""The implementation could be simplified.""Lacks flexibility for different scenario configurations.""FortiOS doesn't work well with all browsers. I think they need to do a better job of making it compatible with the various browsers that are out there.""They're using a lot of application-specific IC, so that may be causing some performance issues. And whenever a Fortinet adds new features, it can affect performance."
