We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We can use Sentinel's playbook to block threats. It covers all of the environment, giving us great visibility.""The automation feature is valuable.""Its inbuilt Kusto Query Language is a valuable feature. It provides the flexibility needed to leverage advanced data analytics rules and policies and enables us to easily navigate all our security events in a single view. It helps any user easily understand the data or any security lags in their data and applications.""The most valuable feature is the onboarding of the workloads. You can see all that has been onboarded in your account on the dashboards.""Previously, it was a little bit difficult to find where an incident came from, including which IP address and which country. So in Sentinel, it's very easy to find where the incident came from since we can easily get the information from the dashboard, after which we take action quickly.""Sentinel's most important feature is the ability to centralize all the logs in one place. There's no need to search multiple systems for information.""I like the unified security console. You can close incidents using Sentinel in all other Microsoft Security portals, when it comes to incident response.""It's easy to use. It's a very good product. It can easily ingest data from anywhere. It has an easily understandable language to perform actions."

"The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiSIEM are the SD-WAN, Global LAN, and application controls.""Its automated response feature has benefited our customer communication. Analysts feel more confident in providing timely responses.""FortiSIEM helped us discover all the threats at the time that were attacking the IT services of the company. We now have multiple-level authentication.""The most valuable features for us are the built-in reports and alerts, along with the extreme flexibility in reporting and rule generation.""FortiSIEM's log correlation is good.""The most valuable feature is the dashboard. CMDB database collects data from a lot of pre-configured devices.""It's easy to manage. There's a web interface and a command line, depending on what the user is comfortable with. There's a large knowledge base available, and the support is timely.""One of the most valuable features is that we can combine SOC and NOC operations in the same tool. We can provide NOC and SOC services in the same tool for two separate teams. There are plenty of third-party solutions that integrate with FortiSIEM. All these solutions already have a ready integration, and we have the possibility to create a custom connector for these solutions. Its reports are also very good."

More Fortinet FortiSIEM Pros →

"It was easy to access and fast. Our experience using it solely as a ticketing tool. We used fetch reports from the tool, particularly with regard to SLA tracking for our partners.""The product has the best features for ITSM.""The most valuable feature is remote access. People are working from home, and we can take remote access through it.""SummitAI IT Management Suite's chat box feature has reduced our service discount, and because it's intelligent, the responses that go out to the users have improved, and the resolutions are much faster."

Cons
"We are invoiced according to the amount of data generated within each log.""The solution could be more user-friendly; some query languages are required to operate it.""The solution should allow for a streamlined CI/CD procedure.""While I appreciate the UI itself and the vast amount of information available on the platform, I'm finding the overall user experience to be frustrating due to frequent disconnections and the requirement to repeatedly re-authenticate.""I would like to see more AI used in processes.""Its implementation could be simpler. It is not really simple or straightforward. It is in the middle. Sometimes, connectors are a little bit complex.""Improvement-wise, I would like to see more integration with third-party solutions or old-school antivirus products that have some kind of logging capability. I wouldn't mind having that exposed within Sentinel. We do have situations where certain companies have bought licensing or have made an investment in a product, and that product will be there for the next two or three years. To be able to view information from those legacy products would be great. We can then better leverage the Sentinel solution and its capabilities.""They should integrate it with many other software-as-a-service providers and make connectors available so that you don't have to do any sort of log normalization."

More Microsoft Sentinel Cons →

"Does not have load-sharing or high-availability, and these are important things to implement. I can do the same things in another way, but not naturally having these features makes it complicated.""Patching is not great - we're not getting the support we'd expect.""It would be good if the solution offered even more configuration options, especially in relation to the VPN so that it continues to be a very flexible option.""The only drawback is the licensing model. It can get expensive if you want to integrate more solutions.""They could work on their documentation. If there's anything about the solution that needs improvement, it's that. For example, documentation already is on a very high level but specifically on the CLI there are tons of features which can be fine-tuned and thousands of commands are very difficult to document. If they could make this easier, it would improve the overall solution.""FortiSIEM needs to expand its integration with third-party vendors. I don't know if Forcepoint has been added, but there were limited resources for integrating Forcepoint solutions when we implemented FortiSIEM. It integrates well with other Fortinet products and solutions from established cybersecurity companies like Palo Alto but doesn't integrate with some of the newer vendors.""They need to integrate better with Cisco and Palo Alto.""Our customers are noticing configuration available in the GUI interface and I think that they should be equal."

More Fortinet FortiSIEM Cons →

"I would like them to add software inventory in the next release. We don't have that right now.""There could be flexibility in terms of customization.""Integration was a major limitation with SummitAI.""SummitAI IT Management Suite's project management and operational management features could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It comes with a Microsoft subscription which the customer has, so they don't have to invest somewhere else."
  • "It is a consumption-based license model. bands at 100, 200, 400 GB per day etc. Azure Sentinel Pricing | Microsoft Azure"
  • "Good monthly operational cost model for the detection and response outcomes delivered, M365 logs don't count toward the limits which is a good benefit."
  • "I have had mixed feedback. At one point, I heard a client say that it sometimes seems more expensive. Most of the clients are on Office 365 or M365, and they are forced to take Azure SIEM because of the integration."
  • "It is kind of like a sliding scale. There are different tiers of pricing that go from $100 per day up to $3,500 per day. So, it just kind of depends on how much data is being stored. There can be additional costs to the standard license other than the additional data. It just kind of depends on what other services you're spinning up in Azure, or if you're using something like Azure log analytics."
  • "I am just paying for the log space with Azure Sentinel. It costs us about $2,000 a month. Most of the logs are free. We are only paying money for Azure Firewall logs because email logs or Azure AD logs are free to use for us."
  • "Sentinel is a bit expensive. If you can figure a way of configuring it to meet your needs, then you can find a way around the cost."
  • "Azure Sentinel is very costly, or at least it appears to be very costly. The costs vary based on your ingestion and your retention charges."
  • More Microsoft Sentinel Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Please be cheaper and more simplified."
  • "We bought the perpetual license, so we own the product, but there is a three-year support renewal fee for that."
  • "Pricing is acceptable for more than 90% of our customers, as they normally get discounts."
  • "Its price can be better. We are Fortinet partners, so we can get discounts, but its price can be an issue at the beginning for others. There is a licensing scheme for every case. There are three licensing schemes that we can choose from."
  • "The price of Fortinet FortiSIEM is a lot less when compared to other solutions."
  • "They have a yearly subscription."
  • "The solution is available for both, perpetual and subscription licenses."
  • "Manageable, however would be better as pay as you go versus CapEX."
  • More Fortinet FortiSIEM Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "We have a regular license."
  • "SummitAI IT Management Suite's pricing is a bit expensive."
  • "The product's cost is average."
