Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Fortinet FortiToken provides security and authenticates that the right external people are working with a company's system.""I would rate the overall solution an eight out of ten. The solution is a smart product that anyone can easily access and manage. The solution is a good product for multi-factor authentication and to secure remote authentication in the corporate environment.""The solution is pretty solid.""The product provides secure access to our internal server.""I believe FortiToken is the simplest to implement.""Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""The integrated Fortinet security with the app that allows you to easily do the two-factor authentication is most valuable.""FortiToken is available in a soft or hard token factor, so there's some flexibility in that. Beyond that, I would say it is a stable solution that has worked for us."

"Among the most valuable features of One Identity Manager are administration from Active Directory and Azure Active Directory, as well as administration from Exchange. These features enable us to have fully automated processes to create new accounts and new mailboxes. The most valuable option is the ability to design an automated route to give our customers permissions.""It has many features which can be combined and configured in a great way, then put together in projects and ways that developers didn't think were possible, which has been great.""One Identity is simple to implement. About 90 percent of the implementation is configuration rather than scripting and creating the connectors.""This solution has helped to increase employee productivity when it comes to provisioning users in our systems. This solution has been really been effective with our retail workers. It wouldn't be possible to onboard and manage our 40,000 store employees without it. The management of the solution is pretty automated.""One Identity Manager is user-friendly and easy to customize. One Identity's business roles enable me to map company structures for dynamic application provisioning, which is fairly important.""It gives the best user experience, enabling us an overview of all user entitlements.""It is flexible with APIs and the customizing of a portal.""We no longer keep users who shouldn't exist."

Cons
"The solution comes with two firewalls as a bundle. In that bundle, most of the individual users can be assigned to mobile users. However, in cases of technical difficulties, users may accidentally remove the mobile application. In normal scenarios, we get back to the activation key and assign it again.""Fortinet support has some room for improvement. It has taken a long time to resolve some issues or find a workaround.""I would like to see complete OAuth support. Also, if they can support it from a SaaS (Software as a Service) or cloud platform, that would be great.""Configuration can be confusing due to the lack of community and context-sensitive help. We've had to rely on technical support, which slows down the setup process.""Fortinet FortiToken should improve its push notifications.""I would like to see if FortiToken can integrate with Office 365 mail to support the same two-factor authentication experience that I have with ESET. With ESET, when a user logs in, they are easily directed to the ESET authentication page, where they are prompted to enter their OTP after supplying their username and password. I understand from support that FortiToken cannot do this with email integration. That's why I opted for ESET.""It could be integrated better if you could have your FortiToken, and the license would allow you to work across multiple FortiGate solutions.""The solution works well. We have nothing to complain about."

More Fortinet FortiToken Cons →

"We would like the product to integrate with ServiceNow, since One Identity Manager and ServiceNow are two of our better tools.""We are trying to get rid stability issues from the legacy version. We are now implementing version 8.2, which is so much better than version 6.""I would like it to have an easier integration with phones.""A room for improvement in One Identity Manager is its analytics. Though it's getting better from version to version, the analytics feature still needs improvement. I would appreciate more analytical features in the next release of One Identity Manager, so I can do a better analysis. Another vendor, for example, has a self-certification system where you can send people, then create a type of profile or screen for each person, and the person can see his entitlement and the risks behind that entitlement, so then the person makes a decision on whether he wants to keep or let go of it, and that's an out-of-the-box feature that would be good to see in One Identity Manager. Another feature I'd like to see in One Identity Manager that would be very interesting is integration with SIEM or any log collection product for both access and usage. For example, I'd be able to see that I have access to a particular application and also get information on how many times I've accessed it in the last year, last few months, etc. It's a feature that would be great to have in One Identity Manager.""The initial set up was quite complex. It takes quite some time to get use to this product because of its complexity.""The performance is quite bad, but this is because we have a very old version.""They could improve the support. Sometimes, you make a service request and don't get an answer. Then, sometimes, we don't get a response that we want, and it's frustrating.""One area that could be improved is the speed of performance - it's often a bit slower because of the size of its database."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It is included as part of our firewall license."
  • "Overall, it's cheaper than other solutions. Of course, we evaluated it five years back, and I haven't checked to see its current market position, but one reason we adopted FortiToken is its lower cost of ownership relative to other solutions we evaluated."
  • "I would rate the pricing as an eight out of ten. We purchased the solution at a reasonable price in 2019."
  • "On a scale of one to ten, where one is the cheapest, and ten is the highest, I rate the pricing an eight."
  • "The solution’s price is good."
  • "Fortinet FortiToken is not an expensive solution."
  • "The pricing is not very high, so I'd rate it around six out of ten, where one is high and ten is low."
  • "From an Indian perspective, it's definitely costlier."

  • "Start with an operations team that is motivated to learn a lot in a short period of time. The longer you wait, the more expensive it will be to get the right level of expertise in this area."
  • "There are old processes that are really great for some people and look like pieces of artwork. However, the maintenance of them is really expensive."
  • "The solution is flexible, in general. You can define the parts of the solution that you want to use, and it won't affect the price."
  • "We have the premium support and are very satisfied. They are always answer our questions very quickly. For the moment, we are very satisfied, but I think it's because we are paying for the premium support."
  • "It helps us save on licenses for applications because we are following the account lifecycle, as well as account reactivation."
  • "We are paying for premium support, which is expensive. However, we do receive very good, fast support."
  • "It needs flexibility in the licensing or packaging, because you buy the entire package at once, and sometimes the customers are a bit overwhelmed with whatever they get. I would like if they could cut the licensing or packaging into somewhat smaller things."
  • "It has helped to reduce customer costs."

    Overview

As we've seen, passwords alone don't keep unwanted guests out of your network. Password-only authentication has led to security breaches, malware infections, and policy violations. With two-factor authentication, a password is used along with a security token and authentication server to provide far better security.  Authorized employees can remotely access company resources safely using a variety of devices, ranging from lpatops to mobile phones.
