We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"A great feature that you seldom see in these kind of systems is the ability to use a database as trigger to launch a task. This is something I asked for a few years ago and that was added.""The interface is simple, user-friendly, and very intuitive.""The ability to connect to websites and pull data is the solution's most valuable feature.""Compared to other vendors, it's the scheduling tool because a lot of vendors want to charge you extra for their enterprise-level license to have a scheduling tool built in to give you the ability to set up regular schedules to run and do certain data checks.""The pricing is excellent. I would give them perfect marks in that regard.""We use it for specific cases, mainly secure file transfers, which are vital for us. And it works for us.""It's very easy to use. That's a big selling point for it. It has got a drag-and-drop interface, so you can quickly deploy bots.""We have found the pricing to be very reasonable."

"The useability is very good - even for non-technical people.""The most valuable aspect is the different capabilities and features that can be applied to different processes.""The product has freed up employee time - and it's not just the employee time. We do have some triggers that run. Some jobs are run that people use to manually do at night and weekends. We also don't have to hire additional people just to learn 80 different types of things in a claim and identify correctness manually. The robots will go through and then they can identify if there are specific things that are wrong. That part will go to our experts and they'll review those exact issues.""The platform is object-orientated. You can create and reuse objects, which is a great feature.""UiPath is good for data scraping and extracting information from websites.""It's very easy to adapt to and it's very user-friendly and robust at the same time. You don't need to have a lot of technical knowledge to use UiPath. Overall, it's a very good tool for tackling simple and very complicated business processes.""The most important and valuable feature of UiPath is the ease of creating automations. It's a workflow-based model. End-to-end coverage is, no doubt, very important, because when you use a fragmented solution, the overall process flow becomes shaky. UiPath has the required capabilities to create an end-to-end solution for a business case.""The automation and speed of the platform are the most valuable features of UiPath."

Cons
"I believe we need to test various OCR tools that assist in evaluating, let's say, six different customer resyncs. We analyze their spending patterns and documentations, but current OCR support has limitations, requiring highly standardized documents, which isn't always the case. With a more advanced OCR system, we could improve processes related to credit risk management and legal matters. We're exploring how to integrate Fortra's Automate with our CRM platform, taking cues from instances where Salesforce seamlessly merged with Automate. However, we use a different CRM, Insight for New Enterprise, and we're seeking ways to connect the automation process within our CRM. We aim for the automation to continue smoothly, even in instances where traditional automation methods might face hurdles.""The vendor is currently working on a solution that allows us to automatically create a process that is based on a document that we receive via email.""They do not encrypt passwords, so this is an issue with HIPAA compliance.""Fortra's Automate is not as reliable as I would like it to be.""The intelligent automation feature could be improved. It's interesting because it's simple, but the automation quality isn't always good. It's easy to use, but sometimes you need to make a slight improvement to the automation, and that's not so easy.""The solution has a very weak knowledge base.""The interface could be more user-friendly and easier to navigate.""It's possible that they could use a stronger community for seeking guidance and help."

More Fortra's Automate Cons →

"The support provided by UiPath could be improved.""UiPath should focus more on recommendations of process automation based on ERP Applications like Oracle, SAP etc. They should also provide a list of possible RPA cases as per departments, processes and based on various industry domains.""Capturing ROI needs improvement. I would also like for it to have more logging mechanisms in Orchestrator.""We could use a little more interaction with users, like with UiPath, the vendor, and support.""The user interface could be better. There have been advancements in UI design and user experience in recent years. UiPath could do a better job of keeping up with these trends.""While working on Excel and PDF, there should be a feature to define which content to extract and which table to extract from a document. It should extract only that. There should be a possibility to ignore everything else. I should be able to show one sample for one page, the second sample for the second page, or one sample for all pages. I would love to see such functionality in UiPath.""I would like UiPath to have an offline mode where we can continue to work when there are maintenance issues.""Dynamic Selectors should have a specific chapter apart, as most of the tools are currently driven as such."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Compared to other products, the pricing model for this solution is much more convenient, flexible, and adaptable to the Portuguese reality."
  • "I like the way this solution is priced because you can buy a license, or you can buy the software outright."
  • "It comes with a package that costs approximately $20,000 USD per year."
  • "While solutions like UiPath and Blue Prism cost around $11,000-$12,000 for each license, this product costs around $7,000 and you can keep it forever."
  • "I'm only involved in running the product and maintaining the systems, so I can't speak to the cost."
  • "The pricing is quite reasonable. We can run the process with one bot. The limitation is at the server level because they have some resources, and sometimes that is enough. It isn't too expensive, so you can get a good return off of one, and you can also have a pack of five bots that is quite competitive."
  • "From a distributor's perspective, one of the biggest selling points of Automate is its price point."
  • "The cost is a bit high for a small business like ours, but we manage with Fortra's Automate."

  • "It costs much less and it does much more than the competitors' solutions."
  • "The pricing differs on the requirements. If there is a huge purchase, then we get a discount. There is not a fixed pricing of the product."
  • "If you want to do a demo trial, it is a 30 days free."
  • "The community edition is completely free. Then, people say, "There is nothing to lose, let me try it.""
  • "There are operational benefits in terms of time savings and user satisfaction of not having to do menial, repetitive tasks."
  • "Traditionally, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism are the biggest things competing against UiPath. Those are usually what most of the clients lean towards, if they see a cheaper licensing option. Clients choose UiPath because it's easier to deploy and learn within their teams."
  • "We saw ROI in 15 days."
  • "They give it away in the community edition for free, so I use it at home."
