We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
Being able to use a Java-based solution makes the product flexible. The interface and the number of connectors that they provide are the most valuable features. The support here, it's kind of okay. But the main thing is with the number of connectors and the UI, the user interface. It has an open BPMIt allows me to present or to demonstrate the business process flow, visually, without having to resort to PowerPoint, Visio, or other products. The speed and execution of DMN was a big selling point for us. It's very good at conducting business processes that are easily modeled and presented in a way that's easy to understand. The solution is easily compatible with HTML forms and HTML language programming and that is the most significant part. When I compare it with other BPM tools, like IBM, it is great, open source, and free when you use the community version. The most valuable feature is the ability to share the logic within the rules engine with the business, so you can put it up for everybody to read.

The new reporting and the new dashboard features are really good.It is very stable. There is no downtime.

The dashboards are helpful because you can display reports directly on your screen. The business process modeling is the most valuable feature. The most valuable feature is automation, which is quite strong and we are quite happy with it.The solution's most valuable aspect is the fact it is highly configurable. We can do configurations very easily. It gives us the ability to create toolkits and use them across many different applications. It allows us to write things one time, instead of having to write a diary for every single different application. We can write at once and reuse it.The workflow of BAW's automation is handled inside of BPM, so we can see what state it is at and how things are processing through. It has had a positive effect on decision-making in my organization. It helps us with our dispute process. It has integrated UI and deployment models, and it has a deep set of consultant and service provider ecosystem features.

Cons
The solution could use some enhancements like adding connectors, improving forms and having a mobile app, but everything is an enhancement rather than a flaw. The support definitely can be improved. Apart from that, the language should be extendable to other platforms. If I want to write, I'll run a different platform, like Python code on top of it, or COBOL code on top of it, and it should support those languages.Lacking in forms visualization. If there were some industry templates it would have helped significantly, because it is similar to a process map for a domain. That is what we are currently creating, a domain-relevant process map.Especially when you use the open-source version, there are issues with performance.I would also like a very easy to use form builder.I would like to have a feature for audit logging, audit logs and audit log management. And some history of use for the audit logs.I would like to see the forms engine available in the open-source version of this solution.

The design of the interface, in general, could be improved. It could be a bit more user-friendly.The setup and configuration is complex.

Sometimes, we feel like we are not getting the full features of the content management capabilities. In terms of improvement, it could be less complex. The setup and installation process could be made easier. The UI of the solution is not good. They should work to update the solution and make it better and fresher. The development UI is sometimes a little slow.Every client is moving to the cloud. We are still a little behind with IBM, but we are catching up from my point of view.I would like to see more streamlined install and provisioning; preferably containerized IBM BPM would be helpful. From what I understand, in the next release they're actually going to combine all of this together as one integrated solution... If we could have one unified way to build a solution, that would really help.

Information Not Available
Nowadays, clients are looking at pricing as one of the major factors. For IBM products, they always think it is expensive for them. We are still educating our clients on the IBM FlexPoints licensing. There is still a relatively high total cost of ownership to actually implement, support, and stand up solutions. The solution has saved us time.
