Quotes From Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros
"I've found the active community most valuable but it also provides you with a lot of other features.""The most valuable feature is the ability to share the logic within the rules engine with the business, so you can put it up for everybody to read.""When I compare it with other BPM tools, like IBM, it is great, open source, and free when you use the community version.""The solution is easily compatible with HTML forms and HTML language programming and that is the most significant part.""The speed and execution of DMN was a big selling point for us. It's very good at conducting business processes that are easily modeled and presented in a way that's easy to understand.""It allows me to present or to demonstrate the business process flow, visually, without having to resort to PowerPoint, Visio, or other products.""It has an open BPM""The interface and the number of connectors that they provide are the most valuable features. The support here, it's kind of okay. But the main thing is with the number of connectors and the UI, the user interface."

"The new reporting and the new dashboard features are really good."

"Easily maintained and customization is quite simple.""Out of box connectivity with UiPath.""The solution offers very good integration capabilities. We've never had issues integrating it without solutions.""The workflow engine of K2 is its main strength. Its workflow engine is probably one of the best, and that's the reason why Nintex bought K2. It can clearly handle any complex process or scenario. K2 is almost low-code. It is a no-code or low-code solution. You don't have to read a whole lot of code. It is pretty much GUI based. Their support is also excellent. The biggest advantage of K2 is SmartObjects, which allow you to separate the data from the application. It is a standalone application that allows you to build a data source from different places, which a lot of other applications also do. It is called SmartObjects technology, which is pretty powerful. If I have data from different applications, such as JD and ServiceNow, I can just create a SmartObject based on a data source and use it. I have some forms that have six, seven, or eight applications in a single form with data from different places.""The most valuable features of this solution are that it's no code, it's very flexible, and it's easy to design.""The integration capabilities have been very useful."

Cons
"I would say that Camunda should actually focus on small cases as well. There's a lot of space out there, for small businesses. If they can, they should cater to them.""I would like to see the forms engine available in the open-source version of this solution.""I would like to have a feature for audit logging, audit logs and audit log management. And some history of use for the audit logs.""I would also like a very easy to use form builder.""Especially when you use the open-source version, there are issues with performance.""If there were some industry templates it would have helped significantly, because it is similar to a process map for a domain. That is what we are currently creating, a domain-relevant process map.""Lacking in forms visualization.""The support definitely can be improved. Apart from that, the language should be extendable to other platforms. If I want to write, I'll run a different platform, like Python code on top of it, or COBOL code on top of it, and it should support those languages."

"The design of the interface, in general, could be improved. It could be a bit more user-friendly."

More Genpact Cora SeQuence Cons »

"Difficult to include external partners with the solution deployed on-premise.""Heavy, cumbersome and inflexible.""The licensing needs to be improved. Right now, we find it's getting more expensive to use the product.""K2 is a workflow solution, and there is no RPA solution with K2. This is where K2 lacks a little bit. It is just a heavy workflow solution. It doesn't have a supplemental product like RPA. If you want to use RPA, you have to use Blue Prism, UIPath, or something else. If you use Nintex, it has an RPA solution. It is a form-based application, and they are doing everything electronically. The initial investment in K2 is heavy because it is a BPM software. It does not have a low cost because they charge you the same for one workflow or 100 workflows.""Currently, it's taking quite some time to deploy a package, it needs improvement""The Workflow Designer needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice
"We are using the open-source version of this solution.""Camunda is much cheaper.""I use the open-source free version.""The open-source version of the product is free to use.""The cost of this solution is better than some competing products.""Licensing costs are anywhere from $80,000 to $100,000 USD per year.""We use the open-source version, which can be used at no cost.""I think Camunda BPM can improve their licensing costs. It isn't easy to find clients with Camunda BPM licenses mainly because it's quite expensive."
