We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Administering App Engine is simple; it has intuitive UIs and a very scalable app engine.""Google App Engine's most valuable feature is self-management. You do not have to manage the infrastructure underneath where all the functions are happening, such as load balancing deployment and version management, they are managed by the system itself.""The solution is serverless, so we don't have to operate it.""The product's setup and deployment phases are easy.""It is simple to use. It is much simpler than AWS. It is also very powerful.""The WhatApp feature is the most valuable.""Its ability to integrate with most devices helps users who have different or old devices.""The product's initial setup phase was straightforward, considering that there is good documentation explaining the implementation part of it."

"The solution can scale.""The solution is scalable.""The most valuable features of the SAP Cloud Platform are the extensions and integrations. Additionally, there are a lot of AI-based microservices.""One of the best features of this solution is that it is web-based and you can log in and work on it from anywhere.""Improved our speed to bring our mobile applications into productive use in a cost-effective way.""The product is very stable.""Great Integration Suite, with CPI being its stable component.""To be able to define multiple sub accounts in order to accommodate and separate development, test, and productive environments."

Cons
"I would like a simpler deployment tool on laptops. It is a bit complicated at the moment. We know how to do it, but it could be easier to deploy it on laptops.""Data consumption of the device could be improved.""The documentation and community are lacking for this product.""There needs to be more directions in terms of how to use the solution.""I think there's still a lot that can be done with Google Meet and the video conferencing part of it. It could be more dynamic in terms of what can be done with it.""The support for the Indian region is not as good as compared to the support that is offered to the regions in Europe.""The product's price is an area of concern where improvements are required.""Some features of runtime don't work well in App Engine."

More Google App Engine Cons →

"When I started looking at the client's IT architecture, I started by doing a study of their services, DVM, data volume, and management services. According to the results, they could be a lot better at this.""In the next release, I would like to see improvements with the price and the licensing.""We need to connect our ERP solution via the VPN. We need to make sure our ERP solutions aren't exposed to the outside world. Our teams really struggle with this.""One crucial aspect where SAP lags behind in flexibility is customization to suit specific business requirements. SAP needs to understand that customization is inevitable and should be more supportive of business-driven customization.""I'd like to see more local integration.""My impression of the stability is that it is not good. Almost every month there is something new and that makes us nervous about delivery.""Better connectivity to on-premise systems would help us to support older systems that are migrating to the cloud.""Speaking about the public cloud, it's a very rigid system. So, there is not a lot of customization possible in a public cloud environment."

  • More Google App Engine Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Licensing costs for this solution are based on the number of users and the bandwidth."

  • "The pricing can be negotiated."
  • "The cost when it comes to monitoring can be difficult."
  • "SAP offers yearly, subscription-based, and pay-as-you-use licensing."
  • "Cost-wise, I'm unsure of how expensive the SAP Cloud Platform is."

Amazon Web Services, Rackspace OpenStack, Microsoft Windows Azure and Google are the major cloud hosting and storage service providers. This article give brief history of these cloud hosting service providers and compares the cloud services provided by them. -- Amazon Web Services -- It's hard to find someone who doesn't agree that Amazon Web Services is the market leader in IaaS cloud computing. The company has one of the widest breadths of cloud services - including compute, storage, networking, databases, load balancers, applications and application development platforms all delivered as a cloud service. There are some cautions for Amazon though. Namely, its cloud has experienced three major outages in two years. One analyst, Jillian Mirandi of Technology Business Researcher, has suggested that continued outages could eventually start hindering businesses' willingness to invest in Amazon infrastructure. That sentiment gets to a larger point about AWS though - the service seems to be popular in the startup community, providing the IT… Read more →
