We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"Google Firebase has a lot of services like storage, Firestore, and push notifications.""Google Analytics for Firebase is the best feature of the solution.""Google Firebase is one I like a lot because it gives us a little bit more power and accessibility when it comes to publishing apps a lot quicker and for the needs that we have.""The main feature for us is that the tools are all in one place and that you don't need to bother with the backend system and the infrastructure.""If you are selling an app with extensive Firebase use, costs may go up.""The initial setup of Google Firebase is pretty straightforward.""What I like most about Google Firebase is that it's one of the easier options to host a website or app quickly.""Firebase offers encryption out of the box."

"The pricing and services that surround the solution are great. For example, if we need to find a partner in a country where they do not have a cloud, they will help us find that partner. Solutions such as Amazon and Oracle do not offer this level of service.""The initial setup process is more accessible than one of its competitors."

Cons
"In Google Firebase, reporting is an area with shortcomings where improvements are required to be made in the future.""Firebase's real-time information isn't technically real-time. It takes a while to upload user activity into the app. It's not as fast as Datadog, the other solution we use.""Firebase uses JSON, and the storage format is very different to that of SQL. This does not allow for easy migrations.""One of the challenges I was facing when I was using it was the library called Google Dialogflow which allows you to connect your chatbot with an intent. So there is so much adding when you are trying to connect it with your service because you have to do a lot of repetition writing a new intent, putting it step by set so it is good to escape. I believe it should be flexible and dedicate the intents based on the relating and to write a lesser code when doing that.""The product is not that cheap.""The solution could improve by providing an improved SDK tool and automatic indexing for databases.""I would like to see faster data migration and some support for other languages in the next release.""Integrations and extensions offered by the product are quite limited presently."

"The solution could use more advanced monitoring.""NTT Cloud’s performance could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "They have a free tier that will cover most projects. For more intensive use, you pay as you use it, but the price is very cheap."
  • "It is not easy to calculate the cost per copy, use or if the load rose dramatically we did not know how that would impact the final price."
  • "The monthly cost is based on writing data and queries to the database."
  • "The pricing component is a bit confusing when it comes to what exactly you'll pay for, but I wouldn't say it's expensive."
  • "The moment you go into volumes, then you work on a pay-per-volume basis."
  • "The price of Google Firebase is very good."
  • "We are using the free version of Google Firebase."
  • "Pricing for Google Firebase is not so expensive, and if you're a start-up with a small amount of data, it will be quite cheap, and there's even a free tier that you can use. If you're doing a pilot with a reasonable amount of data, for example, just a few gigabytes, it's still on the free tier. If you increase the amount of data, Google Firebase pricing is still reasonable."
