We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"How you write your user stories, and the requirements gathering, in Agile Manager is pretty good."

"ALM is a well-known product and is one of the pioneers in providing test management facilities with a 360 degree view of requirements.""We are able to use Micro Focus ALM Quality Center for test management, defect management, test process, test governance activities, and requirement management. We are able to achieve all of this, the solution is very useful.""The tools could be useful if we were utilizing them more effectively""What they do best is test management. That's their strong point.""The setup is pretty straightforward.""Templates: Allows us to standardize fields, workflows throughout hundreds of HPE ALM projects.""It is a tool, and it works. It has got good linkage and good traceability between the test cases and the defects. It has got lots of features for testing.""The product can scale."

Cons
"The testing module that we are used to, that wasn't there at all."

More Agile Manager [EOL] Cons →

"An area for improvement in Micro Focus ALM Quality Center is not being able to update the Excel sheet where I wrote the test cases. Whenever I update some test cases, I'm unsuccessful because there is overlapping data or missing cases from the sheet.""I would like to be able to search easier, not just do SQL queries, being able to do free keyword searches on the data. That's valuable.""Micro Focus is an expensive tool.""There needs to be improvement in the requirement samples. At the moment, they are very basic.""The solution needs to offer support for Agile. Currently, ALM only supports Waterfall.""Quality Center's UI is outdated, and it's a little bit slow on the login part and different parts of the application. That's why we're switching solutions. I believe most companies are switching to Octane or something else. Micro Focus should enhance the interface and reports.""We have had a poor experience with customer service and support.""I would rate it a 10 if it had the template functionality on the web side, had better interfaces between other applications, so that we didn't have dual data entry or have to set up our own migrations."

Pricing and Cost Advice
Information Not Available
  • "I'd rate the pricing as 3/10 as it's very expensive."
  • "If you have more than five users, a concurrent licensing model should be considered."
  • "For pricing, I recommend to buy a bundled package. Check the HPE site for more details."
  • "The full ALM license lets you use the requirements tab, along with test automation and the Performance Center. You can also just buy the Quality Center edition (Manual testing only), or the Performance Center version (Performance Testing only)."
  • "HPE has one of the most rigid, inflexible, and super expensive license models."
  • "Sure, HP UFT is not free. But consider what you get for that cost: A stable product that is easy to use; the kitchen sink of technology stack support; decades of code (which in many cases actually is free); a version that is a stepping stone to an easier Selenium design; and a support base that is more that just the kindness of strangers."
  • "Seat and concurrent licensing models exist; the latter is recommended if a large number of different users will be utilizing the product."
  • "I feel that the licenses are expensive. "
