Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution’s scalability is good because its space is unlimited. We can start in Office365 with one terabyte bit of information and leverage through an enterprise solution of 1000 users."

"The valuable feature is the ability to work with the Veeam software to reduce the backup windows.""It is a very scalable solution.""It is very easy to implement.""From a centralized system, I can manage the interface, the backup policies, and the status of the database.""The solution's most valuable feature is its catalyst mode, along with better performance, backup, and recovery.""We also really benefit from the GUI capabilities.""The initial setup is one of the most user-friendly B2B user solutions. It's good, it's easy. Deployment usually takes less than one day. You only need one person for deployment and maintenance.""The interface is very user-friendly."

Cons
"An improvement is required in reports and backups for sharing on Linux and Unix."

More Barracuda Backup Cons →

"The latency is a bit high.""It is difficult to solve issues with this solution remotely. I prefer to use the knowledge base platforms. The response time could improve.""This product would be improved with the inclusion of more features to security or WORM.""Its customer service could be faster.""I don't see any new features that we could want or anything that could be done along those lines. Just that we need a bigger machine, so more speed.""We would like to see some improvements in the Veeam Backup & Replication integration. It's good, but it has a lot of room to improve. In particular around the inability to easily move data between StoreOnce appliances.""When it comes to upgrading, it always goes block-wise. One block is 48 TB raw capacity. It would be good if they can include a smaller capacity for SMB customers. Currently, it is not possible to increase in a smaller capacity. You have to buy the exact same unit. It would be great if they can provide a smaller next block. There are around 20 hard disks, and it would be really helpful if we can add 10 hard disks initially and 10 hard disks later.""The solution would be improved if it could also be used as a data store for VMware."

Pricing and Cost Advice
Information Not Available
  • "The price puts me off. It's definitely on the high side."
  • "To be honest, we were quite happy with the price, but we always want things cheaper than they are. I think for what we got, we felt that the price was quite reasonable comparing it to other products that provide that same level of functionality."
  • "There are costs for additional storage and space."
  • "Price-wise, it comes with a high price tag when compared to other products."
  • "The cost of HPE StoreOnce is very expensive."
  • "We have got a perpetual license, and we have access to all the features. If you are using cloud banks, you can store the internal data in HPE Cloud if needed. You can offload the data to the HPE Cloud. It is a licensed product. We have got around 10 TB of cloud bank storage with a one-time payment. We specifically took 10 TB for very critical offsite backups. We can also increase it in blocks if needed."
  • "The licensing schemes could improve in HPE StoreOnce and the price is high. They should reduce the price."
  • "I think the product is competitive in terms of pricing. Other products like the one from Dell are costlier compared to the tool."
